I rememeber trying this one when it first came out last year. Pretty sure I even posted it on this thread. Ultimately it was just too dissonant and proggy for me. I'll be interested to see how it strikes the Orca.

I really wanted to like it, there are some really great moments and passages on there. I definitely get why Doc was digging it. But in the end I had to accept my limitations and get back in my own lane.
 
Vomit Forth live at Saint Vitus Bar, Dec. 9th, 2021. Surgey named these guys as one of the good bands worth seeing at that Hell in the Harbor festival at the Soundstage in Baltimore next month. I'd never heard of them before, but then I found this video. I don't listen to a lot of "brutal" young bands like this but I think I really like these young dudes from Connecticut. Their approach seems to be keep it simple yet effective. BDM with a nice groove. Absolutely love the dude's guitar tone.

When I bought this album in 1996, it was one of the first Black Metal albums I listened to (along with Immortal's Battles in the North, Emperor's In the Nightside Eclipse or Setherial's Nord...). None of these albums appealed to me at first. I didn't like the sound ^^. I started to listen to Emperor's album with more attention before realizing that I had between my ears a majestic album! The Setherial one, I never got used to it. The one of Immortal, not so much either. As for this Panzerfaust, I sometimes listen to it because I like these throbbing riffs filled with darkness.
 

Doesn't seem like they'd be your kind of band Jon. But then I guess it's not like they're the primitive lo-fi kind of black metal or super caustic Norsecore, the dude does have a fairly modern take on Norwegian black metal. I've got a few of his releases but I heard a few minutes of the new one last week and passed on it. Revisiting it as I type to see how I feel about it now, but I'm almost halfway through and I'm not really feeling it.
Of course it's hitting me much better than that Triumph of Steel album I listened to 30 seconds of earlier because you'd posted it and I'd never heard it before. Only the names of their first 3 albums even ring a bell, which makes sense because '84 was the year I sort of left traditional metal behind. Guess I must have already been passed the "impressionable" age when Man O' War declared themselves the Kings of True Metal. Before that I just thought Man O' War was a badass jellyfish or a 17th century pirate ship or something. 
But back to Mork, interesting that in Norweigian the word "mork" means dark, but yet when Thomas is asked he says the name is not meant to be the Norwegian word for dark, it's just plain old Mork. Which makes me wonder if they ever even got that dumb show over in Norway, or if they did and it was dubbed into Norwegian if they could have changed the Mindy character's name to Maia or Marit or something more common up there. But mostly I wonder if he knows that most of us older dudes from English speaking countries see his band name and then can't help but think "...and Mindy"

Obviously you got on M25 southbound, crossed over the Thames and must have gotten off onto the slip road for A308 Windsor Road which takes you right up there. If you had used the roundabout you could have easily gotten right back on M25 northbound. But that was a long time ago, so who knows what that intersection might have looked like back in 1962.

 
Been there done that, believe me. I've even been in situations where I could see where I needed to go, but couldn't figure out the maze of roadways I needed to negotiate to get there. I was quite happy when GPS became ubiquitous right there on everyone's phone. Not only do I not have to worry about getting lost again, but even better people stopped calling me all day long for directions how to get places. You'd be surprised how many people over here don't really know how to use a paper map.
I like to use GPS on trips and even closer to home when I know where I'm going sometimes, because it counts down the minutes and tells me when I can expect to arrive at my destination. I put the phone on a dash mount so the kid can see it from his booster seat in the back so he won't have to ask me 500 times "How long til we get there dad?" And it also alerts me to speed traps since I mostly tend to ignore speed limits. On a long road trip on the highway I like to set the cruise control for 88 mph (141 kph) and see how much I can beat the original time Google gave me when I started by.

They sold that Atrocity album as "Longing for Death" over here, but yes it's a good one. Funny how certain older albums like this one never fade away, they always seem to come up in convo every few months. My friends and I were just talking about that record last week.
 
Aeternus - Shadows of Old 1999, the following year after the classic ...And so the Night Became, they switched to playing death metal. And they were good at it. Unlike whoever designed the album cover. 
 
Dawn - Apparition, demo Sweden 1992. Just found out this past week that the much celebrated melodic black metal band Dawn actually started out as a death metal band in the beginning. This demo proves it and it fucking kills. Mind officially blown.
 
Cruentation - Cruentation, Massachussets 2022 this was still in the editor from last night when I fell asleep listening to this EP before I could post it.
