I should go back to Monolith. It had just enough melody to make it approachable. Yohan, how do feel Terrasite compares with their last couple of albums?

In my opinion it is right up there with Death Atlas and The Anthropocene Extinction and liked it a lot. Yet, the three after Monlith never really topped that album in particular. But that says nothing about these 3 albums but all about Monolith. I like the last 3 pretty much equally.

Thanks for the tip. Just got a ticket to Cattle Decapitation.

I'd never heard them before about a week ago, but that new album is almost as good as the splurging blogs say it is. Don't like the production and clicky drums, but the musical ideas and vocals are cool.

My first encounter was as well Monolith when it came out and heard it countless times by now and I think it is one of my fav brutal death albums. Since then I am a fan of the band.

  3. I am very much hoping to see the following shows, I do have tickets and an accreditation but for some I need babysitters so there's the doubt. Metal and children is not always compatible as I read above.

In Feb: Napalm Death • Suffocation • Wehrmacht • Primitive Man • Wormrot e.v.a.

In March: Cattle Decapitation + Signs of the Swarm + 200 Stab Wounds + Vomit Forth

    In July this sick fest:

  4. There are so many releases that have potential to be best of the year. To make a fair assumption you got to thoroughly listen each album and grasp what it's all about. There is no way that I can do that to each release that sounds nice at first listen. Like if anyone can. Sulphur Aeon being fine example, initially I was not as impressed as I hoped to be. Lacking the brutality a bit. But many listens later I started to feel the album and understand it better. And now I believe it's magnificent. How many more albums will be around that requires similar effort? But these are all luxury problems. Fact is there is a ton of great releases in each genre each year. Now need to find a way to rank them a bit properly. Nice challenge!

  5. Looking forward to following releases, a lot!:

Afterbirth - In But Not Of - Hovering Human Head Drones (This is one of the more progressive songs on the album)

Sulphur Aeon - Seven Crowns and Seven Seals:

Omnivortex - Circulate is just out and is really good:

Arborescence Of Wrath - Inferno - Origin worship but makes sense since Origin's singer is in the band with Marduk's drummer. Also if you like Hate Eternal.

  6. Man Must Die must be one of my favourite artists. I have all their albums and come back regularly to them. Their last one I had to take more time to be able to rank them among their previous top tier releases. But it's definitely up there!

Man Must Die - song: War Is My Will
