  6. I agree with Ludo, Orianthi's an absolute unit of a guitar player but it's pop/hard rock. I'd put her in the same genre as Steve Vai or Satriani.
  7. Mine would be Behemoth, Mastodon, and ABBA (I absolutely adore ABBA!)
  8. I was listening to a lot of Avenged Sevenfold's City of Evil/Waking the Fallen albums around the time I started listening to Slipknot many years ago. City of Evil is more pop like but the instrumentation is absolutely wild, Waking the Fallen is a bit heavier with metalcore elements. Still listen to them this day, their latest album The Stage is an absolute masterpiece and I recommend it to absolutely anyone.
  9. Could it be Avenged Sevenfold? A lot of people regarded The Rev as one of the best drummers at the time.
  10. I picked up a Laney Ironheard 60w head and 2x12 cab for around £600 ($800 - $850 US) and I was blown away! It has three channels with the usual clean, rythm, lead setup but also has a pre-gain stage on top of the actual gain, and a bunch of knobs and doodads to create some unique tones. There's a watt dial too so if you're playing at home you can dial down the wattage but boost the volume (I don't fully understand how it works). It can be a bit tinny, but I've paired it with a cheap tube screamer and it sounds incredible! Might sound like I'm endorsed by Laney (I wish) but it's a pretty diverse amp, if it's within your price range I'd definitely recommend it.
  11. a hell yes to the Behemoth and greetings from the UK Raphael! Welcome to the forum!
  12. Hi everyone, Haine Eternelle, a melodic death metal union between the UK and Canada's first EP is up on Soundcloud and Bandcamp. I think it's a little rough around the edges, but I reckon a few of you would enjoy it! With only the two of us, our current plans are to just write music and infect the internet with our noise, and Harpy's Wrath will soon be released on the usual big name streaming services. If you find yourself becoming a fan, we'd greatly appreciate a follow on the socials, and if you really dig this, please by all means share with people. Honestly, the support of you guys in the forum means a lot to us! So any form of interaction is appreciated! Facebook Instagram Bandcamp Thanks, and have a killer week \m/
  13. Hey everyone, Our project Haine Eternelle's first EP is live on BandCamp. Super stoked with how it's all come together! It's a mix of death/black and melodic metal and I figured here would be a great place to start promoting it! Hope you enjoy it. https://haineeternelle.bandcamp.com/releases?fbclid=IwAR1Lx5XDZ36n3wQLM0Q6WQJwUi_imTD3AC3rz1t6wAaTTUobS5g4Rhb96MY
  14. 1. Behemoth 2. Brendon Small's - Galaktikon 2 (Incredible album!) 3. Gojira 4. Mastodon 5. Mr Bungle (Not quite metal but still extreme IMO)
  15. Hey Mac, Have a listen to the tracks on my Soundcloud and let me know if I can help. Ash
  16. So Behemoth just released a four track EP named A Forest (with a cover from The Cure of the same name). Track Listing 1. A Forest (feat. Niklas Kvarforth) 2. A Forest (feat. Niklas Kvarforth) Live 3. Shadows Ov Ea Cast Upon Golgotha 4. Evoe As a die-hard Behemoth fan I'm kind of disappointed with A Forest, Niklas' vocals seem kind of distracting and over the top; and I can't help but feel that Nergal could have done a better job at it. The musicality of the cover is fantastic though, and I feel that it would have been a better rendition with a different vocalist. (Any suggestions?). I wouldn't stop listening to it because of the vocals, but it could have been something more. The latter part of the EP is far superior. It's fast, thrashy and dark; keeping in Behemoth's themes. All in all I'm kind of torn on how I would rate it, have you guys listened to it? What did you think?
  17. I don't know man, Evangelion is definately my top choice! The drumming in that is absolutely destructive!
  18. Thanks man! Yeah I've been in this forum for a day now and it seems like it's for me from what I've seen so far. I've always wanted to be able to front my own band as a vocalist/guitarist but I can't sing or do the death metal techniques at all! I've tried writing lyrics but they are cheesy and I just hate them... But I've accepted it and thought f*** it, bring in someone that knows what they're doing!
  19. Hey man! I've got Presonus Studio One, I've used Pro Tools and Logic before but I prefer Studio One. Plus, I'd rather be working on Windows too. I'm pretty open-minded with music in general; it's just metal seems to be far more appealing and fun. I've been writing music for over 15 years and started learning to produce my own recorded material in the last three. I've been in bands from other genres and played a bunch of shows, but thought now was the time to try and do my own thing.
  20. Hi everyone, I'm Ash and I'm a musician, incredibly infatuated with metal music and I regularly write and record music. I joined the forum because none of my social circle share the same passion for metal that I do; and also I'm looking for a vocalist too. My favourite bands are Behemoth, Children of Bodom (earlier albums), Mastodon, Gojira, Avenged Sevenfold, Cannibal Corpse, Sinergy.. And a whole load more! Love me some squiggly wiggly guitar licks, and heavy af riffs too!
  21. Hi all, I've been writing and recording a bunch of tracks and decided to start a new project using these songs. I've managed to write, record, mix etc. all the guitars, and programmed the drums and bass parts myself. I'm incredibly amateur when it comes to recording and mixing too. Only trouble is I can't sing at all! If you're a vocalist and would like to be a part of this, listen to the tracks and send me a message. I wouldn't mind some constructive feedback on what I've accomplished so far too; not just on the tracks themselves but the overall production quality too. Take five minutes and have a listen. http://Soundcloud.com/robinspawn Thanks everyone, hope you're all safe in this weird world!
  22. Hey man, I'm looking for a vocalist to contribute lyrics and a voice to my tracks. Have a listen on soundcloud.com/robinspawn and let me know if this is something you'd like to work on. Thanks! Ash
