  1. Oh dear. Think I made some wrong assumptions on previous post. ???Did have a few last night. I blame the booze ??
  2. You've obviously got finger on the metal pulse that another person has seen your list and has gone hellll yeahhhh ?????????????? that's my top 5 music too, let's cut and paste.Well done.??? Didn't think people did this but good spot. ?
  3. Listening to these old classics1)pantera- far beyond driven 2)slayer-reign in blood 3) emperor-in the nightshade...... plus these these newer releases 4)slow's dantallion- love a bit of atmospheric metal with very cinematic feel to it 5) pallbearer - forgotten days
  4. I got a bottle of caol Ila 12 year old Islay whisky for Christmas and it's definitely one I savour to drink. What a glorious drink. You get loads of flavour and long finish. Def a slow sipper. Wow. due to health reasons I've cut down my drinking alot which comes to alot of people these days, most times when I drink I drink blended whisky like famous grouse or Whyte and McKay neat.looking forward to getting a bottle of j&b as that's what my grandparents always had in the cupboard, funny association but brings back good memories as theyve been gone along long time. When Im drinking i Go in for a few quick sipping shots then enjoy being a bit tipsey. Then these days that's about it. Also tried rhum agricole this year on my brother's 40th anniversary zoom rum tasting night and that is definitely worth a try. Very different to anything I've had before. The flavour is very nice especially when you get the ones with the strong meadow grass notes. It's better than you think. Re tequila shots. I've done them once at a friend's 18th birthday party along long time ago and blacked out so try to avoid doing them, and try to avoid downing drinks of any kind tbh. It very often ends in regret for me anyway ?
  5. For me what's important is the vocals being a good match for the music. So in sad sections I want to feel the pain, the anguish in the vocals. Good elocution of vocals is not essential for me as for me the music taking me on a journey is the important part.Obviously I appreciate good elocution of lyrics if the vocals fit the music. Big fan of Harley anderson from jonestown and Bruce Dickinson. They do such a great job and Anderson does fairly guttoral vocals too. It fits the music perfectly imo.
  6. Alyssa white and arch enemy ring a bell in my head. Think that's right ☺️ Re women in metal don't think there's major issue as seems like most people have to prove them selves a bit when there starting out be that man or woman. Amalie brunn from myrkur said metal was much preferable to scene she worked in before doing her metal stuff. That was in her words alot darker. Think that was pop or indie music industry.
  7. Raise the horns to rice then??? same for me, just feel alot better after eating rice more often. Gluten does not agree with me much. Also Thanks for cooking tip. I bet that gives the rice some great extra flavour. That plus my normal sprinkling of pepper could be amazing ???
  8. Rice rice rice. Yep got medical issue. That's the carb that works. Obviously other things but eat an abnormal amount of rice. You may like Willey's cacao white chocolate and kotobuki green tea. Tbh I still don't get it and yep was given this for Christmas.
  9. Pleased others use band camp too. I buy alot of my stuff from this and haven't really used Spotify. I got an account but haven't used it much. Less is more for me. I like building a collection too which I can come back to again and again plus I like to support bands more. In truth not sure if bands earn much more from band camp but I sometimes use patreon which I assume can be good for bands. I do buy new albums but generally I listen to it before on you tube or band camp before buying.
  10. Don't drink much tea but when I do,got to be green tea, gunpowder tea or some of the more obscure white teas from China. There very refreshing and taste great. I used to use it as excuse not to drink my normal tipple scotch whisky, rum or bourbon but haven't had much tea in a long time.
  11. Amon amarths latest live DVD/blu ray looks epically brilliant.cant remember name. Therethe gate way band that got me back into metal after a few years without metal but obviously even though I don't listen to them as much these days theyve still got a great back catalogue of songs,
  12. That's interesting point re pallbearer and mastodon sounding similar for clean vocals at least but just two very different paces of music. mastodon and pallbearer are band I want to see again. There good bands even if not the best live band you'll see. That is when Corona goes away enough for live music to happen. Also It's good though your wife listens to a bit of metal even if she's not that keen on all of it. Has she got a favourite doom band. Is it pallbearer. ?
  13. Good point with pallbearer being doom light. Probably great band to listen for newcomers to metal and probably more mainstream vocal style will appeal to the ladies?. Illimitable dolor's self titled debut is also very good doom light music. There a Aussie band formed in honour of there band mate who died I think in car crash. Great background music when doing DIY, washing the dishes etc.
  14. I like the cover art work but balor looks like the album is sending the kid on the horse to sleep. ?
  15. Thanks ive checked it out. It's good thanks. sounds similar to pure holocaust style songs. I'm happy?? Which is your favourite era for black metal?
  16. I've got the album pure holocaust by immortal which I like alot and so could someone recommend album's similar to that sound in black metal and the best immortal album to listen to. Thank you ? ☠️
  17. 1) pallbearer 2)slow 3)officium triste 4)hamferd 5) Jones town So almost full house of doom except a bit of metal core creeps in.
  18. How I got in to metal. I listened to metal on and off since I was about 9. Although I did not properly get into metal until I was 30 when I decided I would listen to rain in blood all the way through fairly loud after some recommendations from friends.? What an album. After one play I was like fuck all this crap I was listening to before. Metal is no 1.
  19. I some times listen to Deathcore. It's not all bad. What Deathcore bands do you like. Also what doom music are you listening to. I pre ordered pallbearers new album. The preview track is great. Pallbearer do solid albums so I'm sure I'll like it. Think there more doom light but I still like there music.
  20. If you like tolkein the silmarillion(think I'm close?) by Tolkien is worth a read. Not that long too which is a bonus. Lots of good little stories. P.s hoping your liking the Abigail album by king diamond. Is it a thumbs up.
  21. I like supporting my favourite bands. Buying Merchandise at concerts can help though and through there website too can. I would love to sponser a band or give them a grant but next to no money makes that impossible. I wonder if bands get grants like students can get them. I've no idea re this. Ive probably gone off topic though ?
  22. New pallbearer album. Forgotten days. Looks good and preview track is fantastic.
  23. Good idea for a discussion. Having the passion and drive goes along way. My wife's brother always had the passion to sing. He was a bit tone deaf but a couple of lessons soon solved that. The school or church concerts probably weren't as amusing after that though. ?he still plays alot now I tried a load of instruments but my favourite is probably singing. Im no pro but I've recorded a few and there good quality.
  24. Thanks for bringing this up.? I'm not a fan of night wish or within temptation but they could be.I think there are 2000 ish band, they already have big shows, music is fairly easy listening so they could be. gojira as headliners would be cool. Not sure if there quite big enough to do this though but I love there music. Mastodon would be good near the headline slot too. Seen them live and they are very tight musically and like there music. They weren't very good with the crowd though last time I saw them as headliners at bloodstock and made very little effort to build up any rapport which I think would help. Once they did that easy they could be.
  25. To me it seems like a gimmick and normally puts me off. My own opinion is I like music and alcohol and see no obvious reason for a crossover. I've heard of a obituary beer, have beer mats for the mettalica beer(magazine freebie) and was reading about a lamb of God alcohol free beer though.
