  1. Interesting what you say about why there's less fights in hockey. Tbh my opinion is those massive hits are not needed. Still amazing how couple of rule changes have resulted in much less fights. Colorado avalanche were very good around that time. I started watching some nhl games around 2000 as it was on alot on free to air tv. I'd seen some highlights videos when visiting family in USA that summer which got me interested as I'm from England. Who were your favourite players for Colorado. I remember the goaltender Patrick Roy being rather excellent especially at not conceding many goals.(shutouts) Joe sakic, Peter forsberg were other players I liked alot for there attacking play and goals. Why do you dislike the maple leafs. They have not won Stanley cup since 1967 so it's not like they win much anymore or are that amazing. Is it there arrogant fans who keep boasting about those Stanley cups they won ages ago
  2. I was going to buy a transcending obscurity album but all the albums I want are not released yet. Just preview tracks. There stuff is free to end of June on band camp but still not found something I really like Bought yob's album our raw heart. Which I'm liking. I'm liking mix of doom and stoner rock. Cover art is cool too with the 3d effect and all those eyes.
  3. The name is amazing and right up my way of thinking. Highway pirates. Ohh ahhhh matey 😁 thanks for the recommendation. It's very catchy. Pleased you like it. If I was looking for classic rock I'd go for this but not for me at the moment . Vocal wise I agree it's mostly Brian Johnson with other influences in there. I'm hearing Bruce Dickinson in places particularly the snarl on a number of tracks, Cinderella Tom kiefer style vocals too and there was one track which reminds of deep purple highway star solo a bit which is cool as I like that track alot. Udo I will Google that. Udo?never heard of them Mispyrming album Algleymi is worth a listen especially island steingelda track. It's kind of rock n roll meets metal. Vocals kind of remind bit of machine head rob Flynn I've been listening to yob's album our raw heart. I still have not heard all of it but I'm liking it what Ive heard so far. It kind of reminds me of doom with some grunge Chris Cornell in places too. Cool cover art too. I want to listen to few tracks before I buy. I don't know about you but I've bought albums on the basis of a few tracks only to find there the only tracks I like and the rest is filler 🫣
  4. It's rubbish father a re your cats. Losing both of them. my mum's pony Rosie was fine one day and next day she could not stand. She was old. It would have required surgery to unblock her digestive system but due to her advanced years the vet said kindest thing was the bullet and they were keen to do it. Rosie the pony was given lots of tranquilizers so she was very relaxed. My mum went for the huntsman who did what was necessary and took her away. All happened in a day. We were all shocked. When a pet dies it can be so sad. We get so close to them. I've certainly cried over putting pets to sleep. Certainly holding them down while they get the needle from the vet sucks.
  5. One of the trainer's for a course said he had bad dysentry from copping a mouthful from a waste water treatment site. He said he was in the bath for days with it coming out both ends. That image has stayed in my mind. He recommended us carrying bottle of coke with us as another also took a mouthful but after having a load of pepsi he only had mild symptoms. I carry a backup bottle. It's better than double trouble shit sick🫣
  6. I've been there too when I had ibd. Bad for months before the problem area was fried by the dr. 🔫Now it's more of a case less is best for me as became bit unpopular. You only notice something when it's gone. Now you can let out as many rippers as you want. 😁
  7. Things have changed since I last watched hockey then. I was ignorant to why the fighting was taking place in the first place. Its a sort of rough justice as far as I can tell. Your right the fights are way down in total numbers now. Most teams are not having the line of enforcers players in there's team but having more players likely to score. Even the old school enforcers are saying it's not a thing so much for the junior players coming through. They claim it's finished but unless the rules are changed I cant quite believe fighting will just stop at all hockey matches. It's surprising though as I assumed it would not change. I stand corrected that fighting takes place much less👍 Also now I know why when they fought all that gear would be lobbed away out the way. I did wonder about that. Now I know it's to do with making it a fairly fair fight. Out of interest what's your team. Winnipeg/ Montreal/ Toronto?
  8. The hockey players are skilled skaters almost balletic I reckon with all those stops and backwards skating and yes they do spend most of the match having fights from what I've seen. It's almost become an expected thing to have these well it was when I last watched a game a few years ago. I've seen a couple of live NHL games which was cool including the Anaheim ducks on there title winning season. I expected them to suck but actually they were excellent. I spoke briefly to one of there players before the game which was cool. The massive bag with the pads was a giveaway ☺️more padding than rugby
  9. No ice hockey page yet. I probably shouldn't assume every Canadian follows hockey. Are you a hockey fan.
  10. That's cool you got a good education. My grandmother had no money but got a degree through nightschool at the London school of economics. It was free for employees. She worked in the day and studied at night. All worked out as she became a solicitor.
  11. Phil Tufnell. . He can really talk from what I remember. He could talk all day to no one I'd imagine. Quite a skill that most of my managers at work have😁. I do like his commentary mostly.kind of funny and quirky. Is he for you in the mark Taylor category where he could send you to sleep with his commentary. Phil Tufnell joins for the 2nd test.hello everyone ...🥱😴
  12. Ok snap my dad installs fans, power points, lights too. Anything too complicated and the sparky gets called. 12 volts ive been told it to low to worry about by people I work with Last thing you want is to be hit by 100 Marshall amps 😉. Good plan with all that testing especially on the solar panels electrics. What have you found with multimeters. Are the more expensive ones better because they do more functions.
  13. Good idea get an improved multimeter. I was talking to the maintenance guy at our church who largely fixes most things on site. I asked him what sort of electrical work he does as alot of people do bits of electrical work these days. He says he tests everything now after that one time when the label read dead for a cable and it wasn't. He cut through it and it Went bang. he was happy to have survived that with no injuries other those t frazzled eye brows😆
  14. I agree £100 or 200 Aussie dollars I'm not willing to pay for many many many bands. If Jim Morrison came back from the dead and the doors toured again with the classic lineup then sure I'd get £100 out for this. 😂 Scary thing is I've not been drinking tonight 🤣 My question to you and others is what band you'd like to see live who can't at moment because band members are unfortunately dead?
  15. I never Want to handle asbestos but recent example had me concerned the grass cutters will smash it up with there ride on mowers as they smash everything else up. This was incentive enough for me to tidy bits up. I've never done much more than neatly pile it up and segregate it and barrier it off until it's collected. It's part of the reason I gave up smoking, we did asbestos awareness course and apparently smokers with asbestos in them have higher chance of developing a asbestos related disiese. Even my scientist wife agrees with this. Although asbestos can stay in some people as far as I'm aware and cause no issues but others die a painful death from it. Thats annoying about the politics relating to the doctor who tips that asbestos in the ground close to that water supply. Youd have thought someone would at least look in to it and ask the doc a few uncomfortable questions if needed. Concerts are cool especially when there close. Next one I go to is a 45 mins drive. It's easy drive too. Not too far from where I work. And tickets £25 so good value as far as I'm concerned. That's one advantage with seeing less popular bands. Lower prices. I looked at Mettalicas last tour and I saw the price and it put me off. £100 for seats in binoculars zone. Sure I can watch the screen but I could do that at home for alot less £££. Plus I'd have needed accommodation as it was west London where as north London I can do in a day on the train
  16. Im of the same opinion. There was a good doom festival in London which is only an hour on the train. Sadly I'd just booked a gig and been to cinema Many times that month so I was not allowed to go. There's another doom festival in July but I'm not allowed to have a jolly up north while my wife looks after the kids. Some people 😉
  17. We've got same rule re not touching asbestos if you find it. Although when I dealt with it last time we were allowed to deal with it if we wear the suit and proper mask etc. I disposed all PPE in bags and sent to official asbestos place for disposal Re getting asbestos surveys done. That's great idea for property over 20 years. There was some housing at work which we provide water services to and a few streets not long back got closed because they were covered in loose broken bits of asbestos. Not always easy to tell what asbestos is. We also have a big site we go to and vast majority of its buildings are not used because they contain asbestos. Not asbestos label is not good enough for some people. Good plan re creating a no dust environment for asbestos. People from work handled some of it in from previous bwork and they try not to think about it as they were not wearing PPE and there was dust.b That breathing issue with it is bad. Not what anyone wants. Don't sound like a good idea to dump asbestos in a deep hole not that far from the water supply. Too risky. Your lucky you've not been anal probed by an alien. 😂 Ouch.
  18. I honestly don't know why people fly tip asbestos. I've tidied it up and barriered it off and reported it. Honestly they could have bagged it and binned it or recycle centre it if they was all proper. But no they just put it on some gravel near one of the underground water tanks at work. 😤 Some people
  19. It's ok oblivion I've got ear defenders for when people like you sing. Well worth it 😉 It's ok oblivion I've got ear defenders for when people like you sing. Well worth it 😉
  20. Never had these as I don't like baked beans. But I've been eating more canned beans each week like lentils, chickpeas, kidney beans. I feel alot better for it. Downside is I'm now a bit of a windbag☺️
  21. Beefy boat ham ☺️Your right there are some dull commentators out there. Mark Taylor can be very dull like you said😴another block by Taylor makes 400 in a row 😉. Which ex England player commentators get you to sleep😴
  22. James t this album I think you'd like given some of other music you like. It's et moriemurs new one. It's Japanese themed one. It's called tamashii no Yama. It's mixes very well played atmospheric orchestral stuff with Japanese themes and metal. I like this alot. Well worth a listen. It's the best album I've heard in months. Ok re jamming I understand. I certainly do that more in the car these days and not so much at home. It makes journeys more interesting ☺️ Yeah good plan to listen to deathcore metal in waves. I listen to many styles of metal and I Do the same. I listen to different genres of metal depending how I am that day. If I've had a bad day put on the sad doomy stuff, thrash music if I'm bit energetic.
  23. My brother tried to get me to go to all female metal band lovebites in concert. I refused and saw anthrax instead. I'm of the same opinion as you re lovebites.
  24. Yeah in UK there was always people with Ritchie b gear with the mask of course. It was surreal site. I kinda assumed it was just what the England fans did. Apparently Google tells me that iconic look was suggested by Kerry packer as a way to stand out. It sure worked and Google never lies 😉. It's cool Ritchie had time for the fans that certainly beats the rude ones. My cousin spoke to Mike gatting at Trent bridge once. I was too drunk to notice who he was talking too 😁. I hope my cousin didn't call him a barrel as that would not have gone down well. Although my cousin would probably have thought taking a hook from mike would have been good. 🥊
  25. That's a good one with Darth Vader. If I used that one my son would probably want to be his apprentice. With swear words. I was just surprised he knows about them as he's only in first year at school. Your right dropping the f bomb all the time i don't agree with. With his friends why not but with Grandma is not so good. It's funny re what your kid wrote on the paper. Very cheeky but not so good to his teacher. That's the kind of thing my sister and her best friend did all the time at primary school. There teacher was not happy. No amount of groundings or other things worked as my sister is very determined. However Theygot split up for middle school 🏫which worked That's a good idea re no you tube for a whole weekend. It's bit extreme but for something a bit naughty it's worth a go. Sugar items are only for after dinner in my house. It's generally amazingly effective especially if the other one is tucking into some haribo . We tried giving them sweets first. Disaster. They filled up on sugar and would not eat much after and getting them to sleep was a challenge😞
