  1. signed copy. thats really cool. interesting cover too
  2. thats an idea. a festival meetup could work as lots of types of metal would mean more people would attend. ๐Ÿ‘ once we have festivals and gigs back again
  3. i hope you enjoy your time on the forum. ive been here 15 months. yeah following a restricted diet for us both then ๐Ÿ˜ out of interest what was hardest item of food to cut out your diet?
  4. i lost all the timing which kinda ruined the poem but i put in extra conviction ๐Ÿ˜ well in my mind i did. probably loud and slurred. ๐Ÿ˜œ
  5. yeah being chased by a serial killer in a dream is not much fun but certainly memorable. being chased around a maze by a similar character definitely sticks in my mind. i normally wake up in a cold sweat once i get to the dead end. quite literally in the case of my nightmare. ๐Ÿ˜ interesting re the nightmares about serial killers being common. yeah that adds up. ive certainly read up about serial killers. wikipedia site implied that ramirez had environmental factors that made him who he was and quite possibly he was a killer not born but made from his environment. anyway ive no strong opinion either way as these complex questions rarely have neat little answers. interesting ideas though. i had no nightmares about it though fortunately. ๐Ÿ‘ thats good๐Ÿ˜‚ dreams about baking. tbh are they good dreams though involving eating great food?or nightmares involving it all going wrong? i once i had a dream where i ran out to play for Manchester United at old Trafford. it was going great for about 5 seconds until i realised i had no idea what i was doing then i woke up๐Ÿ˜„

    Books?

balor its a very interesting read that er antigone by Sophocles i assume i got that right. i read a quick summary. alot happens. how are you getting on with this book. are you still reading it? would you recommend it so far. brothers Karamazov is really good. its very long. think thats whats put me off reading it again. read synopsis again. its definitely one i should read again. alyosha and his naughty brother Dmitry left a strong impression when i first read it especially a bit near the end where they both have a dialogue. which is your best bit? its hard without giving plot away. ๐Ÿ˜‚

    Books?

depraved. im honoured to get your message and if its slightly easier i can relate to what your saying. really can. i was thinking i was completely alone other day. its not a nice feeling at tbh. its not true exactly for me anymore as ive got a wife and three kids but theres some truth to it as ive only got two close friends who live miles away. if im feeling bit low i do new tasks such as diy, sewing up broken clothes, all sorts really, manual handling huge manhole covers i always like at work. a touch a danger or excitement works for me. it seems to help having bit of a challenge or just something routine like gardening or Hoovering. another forum person im sure said the same. insomniac or something ๐Ÿ‘ปone thing thats improved my mood a bit is getting to know the neighbors bit better. bit daunting but i was surprised how positive the response has been speaking to people who i would have not considered in the past. re disconnect to other people. yeah i get that alot. my mind plays tricks on me. its a shame as i miss out on good conversations for no reason as i think of bad experiences too much. my experience is a friendly hello goes along way. i dont find it easy. its never gets easy to begin with for me and i never know what to say but a short hello often is good in my experience. re the glassbox idea you said. i get it too often where i want to say something but its like my tongue is tied and i cant move it or i stammer ๐Ÿ˜ซ its no fun and as you say will make no sense to many. re meeting new people. id honestly recommend it.thats why im on this forum tbh. requiem said an obvious thing which id completely missed and its helped me socially as well as all the self help books i read re small talk etc. surely im not only one who reads these but probably only one who admits to it.๐Ÿ˜œ know im not. they wouldn't print them otherwise. follow your interests too is a classic. that's some thing i do more these days as im fed up of constant work, work, work, ive gone off on a tangent ๐Ÿ˜ re bad experiences with people imo i'd honestly say youve met a socially negative person and most people wouldn't be so negative. ive had it a few times and its the worst. anyone who talks in absolute twisted negativity to me i tend to ignore now and usually just try to avoid them. ive been recommended mindlefullness books from all sorts of people. ive googled it and i do that more these days. seems to be about taking in what is actually happening in the present moment rather than what you think is happening in present moment. alot of the self help books have mindfulness stuff in them. apparently with painting a classic error is drawing or painting what you interpret to be there. tree trunks for example people draw as only brown but looking closely theres all sorts of other colors. putting in the other colours makes a big difference apparently. anyway this imo is an example of mindfulness surely. re books which is er the thread๐Ÿ˜‚. i hope you enjoy the invisible man. re sci fiction. have you read any asimov stuff?
  8. fair point. i have same problem. you'd highly likely have a good time on your own as ive heard the festival goers are largely a good bunch and most people are friendly. i went for a day in 2016 and it was good, i kinda wish i went to sunday instead of Saturday as slayer headlined. paradise lost playing there heavy early stuff was great but not quite as good as kerry king and co imo.
  9. out of interest what held you back from going to blodstock festival before. is it beacuse you prefer another festival such as download.
  10. of course the classic dream is being chased around by an axe wielding maniac. surely im not only one to have this nightmare ๐Ÿ‘ปโ˜ ๏ธ๐Ÿ˜

    Books?

thats cool you got to meet and have conversations with some famous people and public figures including that Guantanamo bay author. most cant say make that claim. also believe me you aren't the only one who doesn't have that many friends. hg wells. the invisible man. i read that book 20 years ago. i liked it. have you had chance to start reading it yet depraved. apart from the greek stuff balor. have you ever read crime and punishment by Dostoevsky. a classic book imo
  12. at least im not the only one on a restricted diet harry potter12. ๐Ÿ˜yeah its bit rubbish, my previous boss had few ulcers go in his stomach similar to your condition and think he was lucky to survive. so risky condition you potentially got there. ive had my condition for 4 years now and its better than its been in past. it was rubbish when i couldn't drink alcohol. fortunately im through that. my condition wont go away so i just got to get used to it. i just eat what works. i eat alot of rice which the dietician said is ok. what can you eat for your diet. also is your restricted diet just temporary also how long have you been on the forum?
  13. they are some fine looking rats and beat the ones we get at work. are they just regular rats or special breed. ive no animals but my mum has a donkey, pony, cat and a very enthusiastic dog who seems dippy but is in fact quite clever at getting her way. ๐Ÿ˜
  14. youaint the only one. for sure i will go back. they always get some very people. have you been before to bloodstock festivaaaaaaaaallllllllllll๐Ÿ˜
  15. gelidae mortis imago by noctu (italian atmospheric blackened doom metal) interesting cover art
  16. doing a show drunk must be hard. i did whisky tasting other day and afterwarrds we read some poems. i was too drunk to do the poem justice. it annoyed me a bit tbh. thanks for all the vocal ideas. it's interesting. im no singer at the moment but have done stuff in the past. lately i do have a laugh with friends and family with guttoral vocals. it certainly gets peoples attention ๐Ÿ˜
  17. What about all those nightwish, epica, within temptation type bands. Are these counted as gothic also. There massively popular. Much more so than the band's I see normally see often playing big venues. Pallbearer last time I saw themhad to downsize venues n because lack of ticket sales. I'm with you on disapproval of sexist metal fans though. I suppose depends on mentality of the fans. I heard of a female metal singer who was sexually assaulted by obituary fans at wacken of all places which is not what you expect. She managed to punch her way out. Obviously such behaviour and type of music may put off lady fans. Personally I think there's alot of high profile women already in metal even if it's singers mostly. You might be on to something. There's no reason why women can't play any instrument in metal band but they are not.maybe it's the hours of practice needded that puts them off. Well it put you off๐Ÿ˜
  18. I read an interesting interview with Svalbard singer and guitarist Serena cherry. She said her in her experience of metal music industry, is that if your face doesn't fit the mould which must include females(i.e if you don't look like a model) then opportunities are so much harder. I wonder if there's anything to this. Well put. Complex questions rarely have an easy answer that actually truly works. Never that simple imo.

    Books?

Good luck with finding time to finish off reading the illiad alabaster and getting a translation you prefer. Also have you ever read don Quixote. That's such a good book. I can't remember much about it other than they go on an amusing quest. I remember it's very funny in places. Also My sister reckons it was one of the first popular books written in first person narrative. It's a good book to me weather this is true or not.
  20. Looks like your instincts were right with this unusual man natassja, maybe he had the Jim Jones effect. watching those videos definitely creeped me out. He was the cult leader from San Francisco. You probably know. Saying that I reckon most creepy people are harmless. Course there's always the ones you don't suspect. Blondie singer Debbie Harry reckons she almost got taken by Ted Bundy and he didn't creep her out at all. Have you heard about this one.
  21. Good one re pilferage of teas and things from hotel stays. Most people do as surely they just bin them otherwise. I'm with you on whisky too. Got to be neat for me though. Have you tried any of the Chinese white teas. I'm sure there called that. There not black teas with milk either.๐Ÿ˜ I bought some before. Was few years ago from great little tea/coffee place near where I grew up. I really enjoyed them. Very refreshing. Im with you on chamomile tea. I don't like it. Leave it for others to enjoy ๐Ÿ˜œ
  22. Why not give it a go. See how you do. If your good and get a big slice of luck like hetfield liking your music on social media you never know.
  23. Hope you enjoy your time at the forum. What other music do you like apart from warhorse.
  24. Could the moderators delete fair few of the threads that are closed. No one can comment on these. It's just frustrating when you want to make a comment and can't. Can threads be deleted even once closed?
