  1. I'm a big fan of the Melvins...but I've never really considered them a "doom" band. Houdini, Stag, Never Breathe What You Can't See, (A) Senile Animal, Hold It In & Pinkus Abortion Technician are all fantastic albums well worth a listen.
  2. Well...I have to admit I have an interesting (but incredibly short) history with Candlemass...and that is...well... I've only heard two of their albums...Epicus Doomicus Metallicus & their latest The Door To Doom. I have not heard anything else in between the two albums. The truth of the matter is I only became interested in Candlemass as a band this year with the "hype" surrounding their most recent album. Please forgive me for my ignorance...but I'm not here to lie to anyone.
  3. Another absolute scorcher from 20 Buck Spin...those guys know talent when they hear it.
  4. Revolution by Sacred Reich Awakening is still getting regular spins in my house.
  5. I just watched Once Upon A Time In Hollywood (2019) & I found it a very engrossing & artistic film...although I'm not sure if I should have been laughing during the "Home Invasion" scene.
  6. The Beatles (AKA The White Album) gets my vote... Why? Because I'm attempting to seem pretentious & snobby of course. ?
  7. ...And now I want to see someone create a animated music video of cartoon Crabs covering a Killswitch Engage song.
  8. I have to be honest & say I'm only a recent convert to the glorious genre of Drone Metal...& the only bands I have really listened to so far are of course Sunn O))) & Earth. I have already planned out my next foray into the genre with Boris & Ulver looking like the most likely candidates for a listen. Of course I'm always willing to give any recommendations a spin...so I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. ?
  9. Oh...I see... I thought this was a genre of metal played by cute traps... Never mind.
  10. They sure have. Cheers... The fifth? Well...I hope I don't end up "letting the team down" so to speak.
  11. Well...at this very second I'm listening to Iced Honey by Lou Reed & Metallica... Yes...I'm one of the few people in this world who likes Lulu.
  12. *Looks around for a Moment* I didn't know singing had to make a "comeback" There have been a lot of albums featuring "singing" that I have really enjoyed this year... Big Business, Black Sites, Book of Wyrms, Candlemass, Latitudes, Lochness, Magic Circle, Sacred Reich, Spirit Adrift & The Offering have all released great albums featuring "singing" front & center in their approach.
  13. HA! That was fast... Townsville, Queensland...
  14. Well...I didn't read the thread. I saw the title & the first album that sprang to mind was what I posted. I will keep a closer eye on what I post in future.
  15. My apologies... I didn't realize it was an issue for two people to have the same opinion.
  16. Well...I'm a recent convert with Life Metal & Pyroclasts... but I have gone back to some of their older material. So far Monoliths & Dimensions has been the most interesting...although Black One is also very captivating.
  17. For me the biggest example of this would be Mastodon's Crack the Skye. It was one of the few albums I really had to "work at" to get...but once I made the connection...it was very rewarding.
  18. I have to be honest and say this album was a complete surprise for me...possibly the biggest "Surprise" of 2019 (along with Exhorder's new album that is). While one could argue the album is too short I personally think its one the most fun thrash albums I've ever heard. The songs are catchy & melodic & just have an "energy" to them that I haven't heard in a long time. I will admit the overall album production quality is a little weak...but hopefully the band will fix this issue when recording their follow up.
  19. 1996... A friend gave me a cassette tape with Sepultura's Roots on one side... and Metallica's Black on the other...or at least the first 45 minutes of both. Been hooked ever since.
  20. Sunn O))) Lochness Poppy Devin Townsend Cerebral Rot
