  1. I hope you're right. I don't know... Sometimes its better not to know too much...and I personally would rather keep my knowledge of the band & their process to a minimum. Although I do tend to do that with most bands/artists I listen to. "I don't care who you voted for or what God you believe in...just give me the best possible music you can create & I'll be happy."
  2. I always thought they were considered Grindcore...and they were featured heavily in the Slave To The Grind documentary... https://www.grindcorefilm.com/ By the way that's an excellent documentary & well worth a watch...even if you aren't the biggest fan of the genre. Either way...I find the entire history & approach of A*C highly offensive...although one can't deny they did leave a legacy...of what I'm not sure.
  3. Emanations Before the Pythia by Obsequiae
  4. At this very moment? Well... Monoliths & Dimensions by Sunn O))) Empath by Devin Townsend Roots by Sepultura Blood Mountain by Mastodon Superunknown by Soundgarden
  5. Dømkirke was an interesting listen...but then I've found every Sunn O))) release I've heard so far to be at least interesting in some way, shape or form. Granted I do prefer some albums over others...but everything in their "back catalogue" seems to have a place & purpose in their overall sound & development as artists. They make an interesting pair of albums with Life Metal being this giant, warm, sprawling epic & Pyroclasts being short(er), sharper & more direct. Although one could view Pyroclasts as simply the "studio warm ups" for Life Metal...but I think they were wise to get as much material as they could out of their time with Steve Albini. I'm actually curious to see if the band releases anymore music from the "Life Metal Sessions" as I think it would be well worth a listen.
  6. Would you prefer Broseph? Or Broham perhaps?
  7. I do now...but then I'd never heard them until I picked up a copy of their latest album Awakening...which for me was the perfect piece of melodic thrash metal I was hoping for. I haven't heard any of their older material...& I'm not sure I really want to.
  8. Cerebral Rot, Disentomb, Nightfell, Sempiternal Dusk, Tomb Mold, Vltimas & Witch Vomit have all released absolute crushers this year which I highly recommend to anyone here who enjoys high quality & unique sounding death metal. Also the latest Cannabis Corpse is really fun...or at least as "fun" as a death metal album can be. *Looks around for a Moment* Death Metal can be fun right?
  9. I do. I found them last year with Desolation & then began working my way back through their discography. I like how they have changed & evolved as artists on every release & I look forward to their next album...whenever it appears.
  10. So...I has a question for you all: Does anyone here prefer the Dio albums over the Ozzy albums? I'm just curious... Please don't throw garbage at me...
  11. I ran into a "young lad" at my local record store the other week & he was looking for some good, old school metal with "clean" singing. I convinced him to pick up a copy of Painkiller which was on sale for $9.99 (Australian). I hope it delivered the good for him. ?
  12. ...is an absolute legend no matter what genre he is focusing on at the time. Empath is an incredible album & deserves to be heard by everyone...that's right...I said
  13. No worries Broski... ? I have to be honest & say I've been a member of another forum (with a different subject matter) for 3 years & the "Post Rating System" there is pretty important to the overall atmosphere of the place. I guess you could say I'm happy to use the "rating system" here...if only out of respect for the other members & their contributions.
  14. Well...what would you class it as? On Topic: The Enemy: Reality by Wolfbrigade
  15. Confession time: I have to state that I never bothered with Ministry until I heard AmeriKKKant last year...and let me tell you...I had a lot of catching up to do. In saying that AmeriKKKant was my "Album of the Year" last year even though I've heard its one of the weaker albums. And for the record I don't care about the "politics" in the music I listen to...I'm Australian...meaning I'm too lazy to care about anything really.
  16. Ministry, Nine Inch Nails, Fear Factory & Rammstein get my vote. ?
  17. Possibly the most underrated metal band of all time? I'm not sure...but both The Plague Within & Medusa tickled me in just the right ways. In fact The Plague Within was my album of year for 2015.
  18. *Sigh* I miss Pete... Type O Negative were such a unique & interesting band to listen to... October Rust still gets a regular spin in this house to this day.
  19. Wow...I haven't listen to or thought about Cradle of Filth in YEARS...but in saying that I did listen to Midian & Nymphetamine a lot back in the day. Those albums did feature some really catchy & memorable tunes. How are sounding these days?
  20. Okay...that seems like a fair call. I have to admit I rarely listen to the Black & Folk metal genres...but whatever it is...it sounds fantastic. Its funny because as I was listening to it I realized that the music is so strong that you could realistically have any kind of vocals by any vocalist & I think it would "work" as an overall musical piece. It certainly is. No...but I've heard their earlier (first?) release came out of literally nowhere & left everyone stunned.
  21. I myself am currently listening to The Palms of Sorrowed Kings by Obsequiae & I think I've finally found a "Black Metal" album I can listen to & enjoy. *Looks around for a Moment* This still counts as "Black Metal" right?
  22. Nice... I would hope so... I mean I'm in heart of redneck country & I'm still a good guy. ? 6 Aussies? I definitely better not let the team down.
  23. I actually think Faith No More is one of the most underrated bands ever. Each of their albums offers a different experience & shows a band that was/is never afraid to experiment and take a new approach. If only more bands had that kind of that creative attitude when writing their material these days. Personally I think King for a Day...& The Real Thing are there best albums...but I like every one of their Patton-Era albums.
