  1. Like Gods of the Sun is definitely the best album, and the most gothic sounding if that's your thing...I also like the Trinity compilation which is the most traditional doom/death sounding. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  2. Most progressive metal has clean vocals so you should probably focus on that. Symphony X, Dream Theater, Blind Guardian, etc. Also some djent bands like Periphery, Tesseract or Textures. Not a fan of clean vocals in djent myself, but you might like it. Isis's album In the Absence of Truth also has clean vocals, and later Neurosis albums. Clutch, Helmet and Corrosion of Conformity have clean vocals and are great too. If you're into Sabbath type stuff I'd go with Electric Wizard. As far as melodic metalcore goes, I like Thrice, Twelve Tribes, Haste the Day, the first two Of Mice & Men albums, etc. There are an asston of mediocre bands in that genre though. Good luck. I like breakdowns and I'm not a big fan of long, self-indulgent guitar solos, but this question suggests a false dichotomy which doesn't really exist, no offense. A good song can have both or neither. Sent from my Galaxy S8+ (SM-G955U) using Tapatalk

  5. I contacted Tapatalk and they told me the plugin is outdated and must be updated by the forum owner; I tried using the Contact Us link and got an error. Sigh.
  6. Perhaps, it's just a bummer because that's what I use so I can have all my forums in one place. Oh well. I used to play drums when I was younger, but not much lately. I enjoy black metal, melodic death, doom, some djent, industrial, and so on.
  7. I'm Jesse, from the U.S. This forum seems cool but it won't let me log in with Tapatalk, so I'm having to use the browser which is pretty annoying.
