  1. Khold - Masterpiss of Pain. Read about them a long time ago but this is my first opportunity to actually check them out.
  2. Archaic Argot - Terrorist Ov The South-East. Some Black Metal out of the Philippines. The vocals on this record are really quite disturbing. I could only describe it as early Mayhem meets Abruptum.
  3. I tried but i could never really get into Drudkh. It's my own bias i think, seeing so many Drudkh patches sitting alongside Lifelover & Shining patches that gives me a bad taste in my mouth. I'll keep trying but i haven't been able to shake it yet. To be honest, i haven't heard enough of Hate Forest to make a fair judgement, any recommendations i should check out?
  4. No doubt, quickly becoming one of my favourites. The blend of delicate, traditional elements & distorted melodies has me hooked. May soon surpass Nokturnal Mortum as my favourite Ukrainian band. Nice. Have both these records (Katatonia & Paradise Lost) in my "To Listen" playlist. Will hopefully get the chance to check them out soon.
  5. Welcome Aboard PastorJ. I'm not a Christian myself, but i do enjoy some of the "unblack" metal bands. Enjoy your time here.
  6. My family is actually from Denmark, but that's a whole different thread. lol. Anyways, I have often found the same with Slayer, i just never caught the hype. I respect their place in the history of metal it's just not for me. I enjoy pre-black album Metallica but my interest dropped pretty quickly after that & i started looking for something heavier. I don't really listen to much Dansk metal at all to be honest, i do enjoy the Psychobilly bands & a few of the "alternative pop" artists like Tina Dico & Dicte, etc though. I guess on the upside, at least they aren't namedropping Aqua & Mo when they find out you're Danish though.
  7. Well thank you, i can only imagine how much better Dirty dancing would have been if Michael Myers played that part. Akercocke - Of Menstrual Blood & Semen.
  8. Northern Kings - Rethroned. (P.S. Sorry for my absence folks, i'm currently in The Philippines so i can't get on here often.)
  9. I can't stand Iron Maiden or Slayer. I really enjoyed Deep Calleth Upon Deep.
  10. Don't believe so brother. Worth checking out?
  11. Well, i have time for one more. Listening To: Aisling - Aisling/Trath Na Gaoth. Interesting project this one, An Italian band with a Gaelic theme. It does border on generic at times but the bridges and instrumentals are quite nice.
  12. Cheers for the recommendations, been here barely a week and already have a rapidly growing playlist of things i haven't heard yet, i like it. Listening to: Amputation - Achieve The Mutilation. As i said previously, i don't know much about Death metal, so maybe by community standards this is a good demo. It's not really to my tastes, but it is cool to hear it for the historic relevance.
  13. I really need to check out more Finnish BM. I have a few lying around from Impaled Nazarene, Catamenia & Barathrum which i do enjoy, but have never really given the country the attention it deserves. I'll check out the ones you mentioned.
  14. Abramelin - Abramelin. I'll admit, i know very little about Death Metal, but i saw these guys open for Cradle of Filth back in 2001 & they blew the roof off.
  15. Hey brother, pleasure to meet you. Welcome aboard.
  16. They aren't too dissimilar, but they have chunkier riffs & a little more of a Black'n'roll feel which i enjoy sometimes. Haha, same. I'll still buy his stuff on name value alone, unless of course he becomes a judge on Norway's Got Talent. Then i may have to draw the line, haha.
  17. Abbath - Abbath. Solid record but i still think the Demonaz & "I" records were better. This one just seems to lack variety from one track to the next.
  18. Thanks my friend. I have heard Gloomy Grim, but only one track & it was a cover of Paradise Lost's "Say Just Words". I really have to check out more of their material.
  19. Hahaha. Thanks man, appreciate it. Come to think of it, i might very well have been around the same age when that happened. Still, at least you got a signed memento which is pretty damn sweet in it's own right.

    Travel

Hey nice man, I actually spent my honeymoon there as well. We went over to see the Big Buddha in Lantau & took the ferry across to Lamma Island which was nice. Really miss living there. The Philippines was a shock at first, saw a dead body within an hour of being there & saw entire homeless families living on doorsteps, but on the flipside they were the most welcoming & friendly people i have ever met, food is fantastic as well (which is just as well because they continue to stack your plate until you can't move). Not been to Thailand but from what i have seen it is the best of both worlds, Party side/country side. I assume plenty of feasting will be done during your stay. The French countryside looks amazing, really hope i can get there one day. I imagine it will be even more so in solitude. That is the kind of region where you can really engulf yourself in the culture and surroundings without so many distractions.
  21. I actually bought that album from a pawn shop years ago. Hahaha. I gave it away due to not being into death metal at the time, i'll have to find it somewhere and give it a spin again.

    Travel

Travel is also a huge passion of mine. I honestly believe it gives you a different perspective on cultures that you can't experience through TV or books. I spent the last few years living in Asia (mostly spent in The Philippines & Hong Kong) and it taught me a lot about cultures & customs, as well as a new found humility. There are still many places i want to experience & have made plans to go to Denmark & visit some family in early 2019.
  23. Kill em all a great record. I personally prefer Ride The Lightning, but Kill Em All still gets rotation in my collection.
