And another one. I have a 4th but not too sure on how much I like it. Also a cover on the way...

    My second track - Dormant.
  3. Baroque-inspired metal/rock recommendations?

This has some nice baroque influences. I hear some of their older stuff leans more towards baroque. Definitely worth a listen if you like bands that like mashing many genres together.
  4. Do you think Djent is an actual genre?

Correct me if I'm wrong I think Misha Mansoor (Periphery) coined the name Djent to describe a guitar tone he was trying to achieve. As with all language words gain and lose meaning but as it stands I think Djent is a genre. When people say Djent I think of bands like Periphery, Monuments, Sikth and Meshuggah. Regardless of the origin of the word it seems to have stuck with the metal community. At least for now.
  5. Looking for metal with rap in it

D.V.S.R and Hacktivist are two bands that come to mind. I haven't listened to a lot of their material but I quite like this track...

Hello, Here's the first song I completed over the last few months. It's called The Ice Beneath Gave Way. Hopefully some of you guys enjoy it! Cheers
  7. Hello humans

Hello, I thought I would try this forum out as a platform to share my music. I'm just a hobbyist who writes songs in my spare time. I'll be using the Promote Yourself part of Metalforum as a kind of 'sketchbook' where I'll share songs and song ideas that I'm working on. Hopefully some of you will like the crap I put out. Cheers, from sunny England
