Katatonic's Achievements

  1. Hello peeps, My name is Andy, I live in South East London. Doom and Melodic Death Metal my main things but I have fairly wide tastes. Massive fan of Katatonia.
  2. So, you know how it is - from the depths of your memory surfaces a vague recollection of something you once saw on YouTube, and when you realise that you cannot remember the artist or the track title, you find that it drives you round the bend rather. Can anybody help me identify either of these songs based on what little I can remember of their videos? The first was definitely a doom track. The video opens with a man (late-middle age?) receiving a letter in the post. Then, for roughly the first half of the song, he depicted going somewhat crazy with resentful anger. For the second half of the song, we see him just getting drunk in a bar. At the end of the video we see what news the letter imparted: he has terminal cancer, and only weeks to live. (Stomach, or oesophagus, I seem to recall?) I'm sure there was more to this video than this, but I've forgotten most of the details. In particular, I seem to recall he did something crazy (murder, to settle some old score?) knowing that he wouldn't live to be punished. The second was not doom; I can't really remember anything about the song, including to which sub-genre of metal it belonged. The notable thing about this video was that it was a LONG time before the song actually started. In the first few minutes, without music, we see him at his desk in his dingy office at the end of the working day, then travelling down in a lift to exit the building, crossing a desolate car park in which his decrepit hatchback (I vaguely recall it being a 2nd generation Honda Civic, but could be wrong), buying dinner at a fast food drive-through, going home, then heading out for the night. All this happens before the music starts. Once out, he seems to be in a karaoke bar; the non-metal clientelle do not seem to care for his creative outlet. Anyone have any ideas? It's something of a long shot, I realise. What with the sketchiness of the detail I'm able to provide. Anywho, any help gratefully appreciated!
