"Autumn Aurora" is probably their best work, as well as "Blood in Our Wells."  I would also highly recommend the "Eastern Frontier in Flames" compilation of some of their eps.

Cool to see Zuriaake on your list.  I only heard of them a few months ago, but was impressed by what I heard.  No Drudkh?

Maybe not the newest album as i don't think it's his best work, i would recommend giving his previous album Arktis. a few spins though to see what you think.

And posting Baise Ma Hache isn't?  I just picked that song because I had not heard the alternate version before, and thought that others might find it interesting.  I must say that I prefer the above version to the album one, however.  I like the longer acoustic opening.
10/10 Awesome riffs and vocals.  Nice high guitar tone, and the vocalist's voice matched the music perfectly.

Good point, I will have to go find one sometime soon (preferably with the Dore illustrations!).

I will keep an eye out for the demonology book - it sounds interesting!  Paradise Lost is a book that I have been wanting to read, but I imagine that it is very difficult to get through.  I would think that it would require some reference material to understand it completely.
I would highly recommend the Dao De Jing.  It is very interesting, and can be read in the course of an afternoon.

I would say that I find the metal music that I listen to to be meditative.  In a way, this is spiritual for me, especially when it evokes senses of nature (which is something that I find very important).

That sounds both really good and horribly unhealthy at the same time.  I will have to try it sometime.

Just because something is new does not entail that it is in any way better (or more worthy of attention) than something that is old.  Just as anticipation of the future can bring new advents to music (and anything really), so can reexamination of the past.

Glad to hear! Those first two tracks are favorites of mine as well. And yes, Strigborg can be hit or miss. I recommend "Southwest Passage" if you haven't tried it already. Cheers.

I actually liked it way more than I thought that I would.  I particularly enjoyed the first two tracks.
I am not sure how I feel about Striborg yet.  Part of me really likes it.  I think that I need to listen to some more of his work.  He produced so much stuff that I am not sure where to start!

I had listened to some of their stuff a while ago on Pandora.  It never did that much for me back then, and I didn't really have an interest in them until a few days ago.  A guy came into the place that I work at with a Carpathian Forest shirt, and that reminded me of them again.  I think I will try to listen to it later today.

I think that it is really fascinating to listen to demo albums.  Not only do they represent the beginnings of a band, but they can also provide hints about what they will become in the future.  What bm demos are your favorites?  Among my favorites are the following:
