I agree that they are definitely better than Belphegor because they have songs that sound different from one another, with few that are bad (unlike Belphegor).
"Destruction Algorithm" - Doomsday Cult @salmonellapancake have you listened to them before?  They are a good war black metal band that I would highly recommend.

I'd rather spend 87 minutes listening to Lift Yr. Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven by Godspeed You Black Emperor! than relisten to The Book of Souls.
As much as I have disdain for post-rock and hipster bullshit at least the ambient can get interesting at points, unlike the album we're talking about here.

A someone who works with food, I find the idea of bacteria-ridden baked goods to quite disturbing!
Honestly, there was little thought in choosing this username.  It was just a name that happened to be on my mind when I joined the forum - it could easily have been something else.

It is the name of a mythical, evil cyclops from Celtic mythology.  I chose it because I have always been interested in the eye as a symbol.  Before I had settled on the name Decrepitude for my own music project I had intended to call it Balor.  Since there were other bm bands called Balor, I decided to instead adopt it as my musical pseudonym/username.

Oh and also, I do listen to a lot of music outside of metal. I use RYM to talk about non-metal a lot but if anyone wants to talk with me on here, that's cool too. I like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen, King Crimson, Genesis, Yes, The Doors, David Bowie (yeah the profile pic gives it away), Nirvana, Soundgarden, some Pearl Jam, Beck, early Green Day, Bob Dylan, the Sex Pistols, the Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, The Eagles, The Cure, Jethro Tull, Tom Petty, Alice Cooper, The Kinks, The Zombies, early pre-disco Bee Gees, Thin Lizzy, Velvet Underground, The Stooges, Blue Oyster Cult, AC/DC, Santana, and more. And, with hopes I don't get exiled here, there is some hip hop of merit that I do enjoy, but it's none of this trap shit. 
I mean, I like them and I've given Hell Awaits and Seasons of the Abyss 5-star ratings, even though they're at the borderline between 4.5 and 5. Their contribution to extreme metal is obviously huge and I'm not undermining that, but their music itself is often repetitive and drags a bit on each 'classic'. Show No Mercy is very overhyped though but has some great songs. 

I haven't watched a Marvel movie in a long time, but the first Guardians of the Galaxy was one of the best that they produced.

Really? that's cool. I think the first death metal band i got into was Children of Bodom. I didn't really think I would ever like anything harder than just regular metal but after hearing them I just wanted to try every band and see how heavy I could go. Now I don't really have a limit. 
I'm always impressed by metal vocalists. I honestly want to learn to scream. I've been working on it. I'm a good singer in general but I've always had a very clean sound. I am able to get distortion of some kinds but right now its not very consistent. But I hear a lot of vocals in metal that just amaze me and then I want to do it too. Sometimes when I don't think about it I can produce a pretty amazing scathing sound, but then I cant recreate it and that makes me sad
Oh yes, I like Dissection. That's definitely my kind of sound. I just didn't want my list to get too long so I had to narrow it down quite a bit. There are a lot of groups I like but brevity is good

Cool!  I like Behemoth quite a bit, and Amon Amarth was one of the first Death Metal bands that I got into.  While I am not a fan of Deathcore, I was always impressed by the vocalist in Job for a Cowboy.  No Dissection?

For some reason, I tend to like the cleaner versions of Absurd songs.  I think that I tend to prefer the later vocals.  I also think that the more victorious sound of the songs in later incarnations tend to correspond better to the lyrical content than raw versions.
It is definitely one of those infamous underground releases that are know more for their cover than the music - not unlike "Dawn of the Black Hearts."
