Yeah it does sound cool. Hawaii sounds amazing in general. Definitely worth googling Lydgate farms. There's probably some thing closer to home that does similar so thanks for info. That's cool about your favourite one. Proper milk chocolate. I mean mass produced stuff is ok but it's nice to get premium now and again. Maybe like Friday when I had drink of single malt Islay whisky followed by standard blend. Initial reaction was what is this rubbish. 😂still enjoyed it though.
    The blended scotch that is
Tbh it's hard to get in UK too. Specialist chocolate shops sell it and some big supermarkets. Online it's easy to get. Tbh Im not going to push it. You should enjoy what you like. Eating 100% dark chocolate is just a different sort of eating experience. Much more extreme flavours.

Trader Joe's carries it sometimes, both as chips for baking and as bars for your inner chocolate masochist. I gotta say, even putting the strong flavor aside, stuff with a lot of cacao makes me feel weird if I have more than a tiny bit. My wife also bought some "brewing cacao", which is just coarsely ground beans and husks to prepare like coffee, and it tastes great but makes me feel like dog shit.

That makes sense.  Now that I think of it, I'm not sure that I have ever seen 100% in a store.  I will have to look next time that I go to the store.

Balor interesting what you said about high percentage chocolate being used for cooking. For me it's logical that  more high percentage stuff is used for baking/cooking after all most people don't like high percentage chocolate.that being said the stuff I've had  tastes great. It just requires eating smaller pieces of it  and enjoying the stronger flavour. Well that's my take. Would recommend you just by a premium brand. I bought some other day and cost me £2 so wasn't that much. If you do eat some can you let me know how you get on.

    Hello, forum
I'm happy that I have found this place. I've been listening to metal since my teen years, my tastes had changed during this time. I've started as a power-metal fan, I was really found of Blind Guardian, Helloween, Hammerfall, Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody of Fire, Nightwish - though I believe it's a sympho-metal
Later, i've started listen to doom metal, my favorites are Candlemass, Solitude Aeternus, Funeral, Count Raven, Trouble, Cathedral, Paradise List, My Diyng Bride, Anathema and Shape of Despair - yeah, I know that it's quite a mixture I also enjoyed Reverend Blizzard, Doomsword and Electric Wizard bands.
Above that, definitely, Atheist, WASP, Iron Maiden, Nightwish, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest... Blood Ceremony. And, once on a while, Megadeth, Motorhead... For the most exiting moments of my life I even chose some pieces from Alabama Thunderpussy
Except for metal, I also adore classics of hard rock, folk, darkfolk, gothic rock and postpunk, medieval music and much more...
Yes, I have a tendency to write a lot. Nice to meet you, everyone

About 73% dark was the highest for me I think.  I have always heard that anything higher than that is meant more for baking/cooking than eating alone.  That being said, I would definitely try 100%.

I can see where you are coming from, and we all definitely have our limits.  Varg was definitely one of the best bm musicians ever, but his antics (even when totally disregarding the murder) are consistently stupid and laughable.

    A few for me:
Technically, not an album, but the System of a Down songs that were played on the radio in the early 2000s.  Hearing their riffs and aggression as a young kid really made an impression on me.  It was what got me to begin playing the guitar, and was among the first bands that I recognized.  I don't listen to them much anymore, but I have very fond memories of their music. Metallica -s/t album: This was the first metal album that I ever got (it was a gift), and is still one of my favorites.  It is a great collection of songs.  All of them are catchy and memorable. Burzum - Filosofem: This is my favorite Burzum album, and was one of the first black metal albums that I ever purchased.  The ambient guitar tracks at the end remain inspiring to me, and I named my first musical project after them. Reek of the Unzen Gas Fumes/Xenophobic Ejaculation - split: Reek of the Unzen Gas Fumes changed my view of what metal can be by pushing speed and catchy riffs to the extreme.  This split has some of their best tracks.  This release was also my first introduction to the mighty power electronics of XE.  I had never heard music like that before, and, since hearing it, I have been converted to listening to and playing noise music/power electronics. This is easily their best release!

Well, I have said it before and will say it again: your paintings are good, and I think that if you keep persisting as you have, then you will start to see more people wanting to use/see your work!
What kind of music are you doing?

Did this one for an EP cover (a release called 'The Hotels'). Ended up disliking the full painting, so just went with a small section of it.

Balor great choice for your first metal album you got. I got the same one but I wanted ride the lightening as I preferred the cover😁 the  covers still cool with that snake on the cover and being in black.
Re burzum I've avoided this music because of vargs off music stuff. Probably alot of the black metal I listen to is  inspired by his music so is a shame. They had this discussion in metal hammer 🔨 and turns out I ain't the only one whos been put off his music for same reason. I mean I like musicians to stick to doing music. Call me old fashioned 🤣  believe me if he put in an apology of some sort and actually meant it id listen straight away because we all make mistakes is my view on things.

Ok, here is my top ten (off the top of my head at least):
    01 The Shining
    02 The Langoliers
    03 The Stand
    04 Wishmaster 4
    05 House 2
    06 Exorcist: The Beginning
    07 Prometheus
    09 Event Horizon
    08 Freddy vs Jason
    10 Troll
(those are the films that I honestly enjoy the most, as opposed to thinking they are necessarily good as such... indeed, some of them are thoroughly silly )

    Hi all Brothers,
just wanted to let you know which are the Albums that meant more in my life, as a Rocker and Metalhead: NOT necessarily my favorite albums (maybe only 2 of the following are among my top albums and bands), but those records that somehow changed something in me, had a great impact in my perception of the Rock & Metal World.
It would be nice to know yours!
    My First Cassette in 1986:
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind
My first Iron Maiden album (MC), I was 13 and I had never listened to Metal before... needless to say I was completely blown away from the very first intro of Where Eagles Dare! I still have that cassette but it doesn't work anymore 🙈
My First 3 Lps in 1988:
    Sanctuary - Refuge Denied
Absolute masterpiece, I was 15 and I had never heard a vocalist like that! I simply couldn't believe Warrel Dane's voice was true...
    Fifth Angel - Fifth Angel
Absolute masterpiece, disclosed to me Power and Epic Metal.
    Candlemass - Nightfall
I had never heard such a sound before (I wasn't much into Black Sabbath at the time). This is still today in my opinion THE Doom Metal album. Simply legendary and Messiah Marcolin is to me one of the best vocalist ever in the genre.
    Change of Style in 1989:
Guns 'n' Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Ok it's not Metal, but this is maybe the only album I've been listening to every day for 2 years (from 1991 replaced by Use Your Illusion). I was totally crazy about those guys. I think I don't listen to Appetite for 20 years now, but I still remember every note and word. Thanks to them I went back to the basics, discovered rock music of the 60s and 70s. So they really meant a lot for my rock life!
    Back To Metal in 1994:
Machine Head - Burn My Eyes
One word: Davidian! But the entire album blew me away, I bought it straight away the day after seeing them supporting Slayer in Milan.
    The Awakening 2016:
    Rotting Christ - Rituals
I have to confess, I was not much into Metal in the last 10 years...I left to re-discover and dig into the 60s, 70s, 80s and more Prog Rock, Dark, New Wave, Art Rock... but, I know you perfectly get it, something always remains inside a Metalhead!!! Can't remember how it happened but I listened to "Elthe Kyrie" from this album... I had never heard of Rotting Chist before and I've never been particularly a fan of Black Metal: but that album changed again my rock life! Today Rotting Christ (and their entire discography) are one of my all time favorite... and they of course opened me the gates to Black Metal!
    And Now
Waiting for the next album that will blow me away... 🤘♠️😉

Balor given a Damn from blaaacdoommmmfan in Thoughts on metal and negativity
Metal in many ways rejects the norms of society (though it is worth noting that it has many norms of its own).  Breaking away from the herd provides one with an interesting level of objectivity about society that could not otherwise be achieved from within.  Just because something is normal, popular, or "light" does not entail that it has any quality or insights to offer.  In many ways, the people who deliberately do something unusual or different often have the most to offer and learn from.
