  1. Hails, I play in a blackmetal band from Alberta, Canada, called Mausoleum. We just finished a new demo: Gospel of the Soil. We have a heavy second wave influence but draw from many sources. Check us out! https://themausoleum.bandcamp.com/album/gospel-of-the-soil
  2. Wow check out my song...LOL. From glancing at the first tab I would say you just need more time playing an instrument and familiarizing yourself with each role in the band. Think about what the rhythm section is going to be doing and what the lead can do to accent this "atmosphere" you want to create. Burzum is really simple in every aspect thats something to consider. Drudkh isn't. If you want to fake it till you make it maybe just learn to take the riffs you already have and play them on strings 1-2-3 as a variation. Octave chords are great too and if you turn them diminished they become pretty evil. Good luck
  3. Good start man. Highly recommend getting a real drummer. The drums sound very clean and robotic which is a contrast to the raw style. Or maybe throw some reverb on them? Anyway good luck and keep releasing stuff.
  4. Mausoleum from Alberta, Canada with a new 2 song EP called Pride & Torment for fans of blackmetal. Any feedback positive or negative would be greatly appreciated. Cheers. https://themausoleum.bandcamp.com/album/pride-torment
  5. I have no problem listening to any of their albums but the original EP, Nightside eclipse, and Anthems are the ones I still listen to regularly. Wrath of the Tyrant was one of my first bm experiences many years ago and turned me onto black metal in general. The albums after anthems get pretty out there for me as I really think even their early stuff would be better without the keyboard (the guitar tracks on anthems are amazing yet buried beneath layers of synth) but then again who am I to judge when they wrote that shit anyway. They definitely got more experimental but I still enjoyed the later albums just not as much. Need to see them at least once tho
  6. Emperor is back together again to play Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk live at select tour dates...as a Canadian that missed out on the last reunion when they played In the Nightside Eclipse in its entirety, I'm once again mortified I won't have a chance to catch this amazing show..any other Emperor fans around and did you get to see them live at any point? Guess I'll have to setup a mock concert in my basement again and to the surprise of my stuffed animal crowd, jump on "stage" and preform the solo of With Strength I Burn alongside of my childhood hero's.
  7. Oh okay that makes sense I had no idea. I heard something about them trying to tour as Gorgoroth after leaving but not sure if thats true or not. Either way mystery solved
  8. Both bands have some killer albums, I personally prefer their older material in both cases but solid all around. Panzer Division Marduk vs Secrets of the Black Arts and World Funeral vs Attera Totus Sanctus would be what it comes down to for me...fuck it...Marduk
  9. I agree with the above posts about Purity, and Battlefields. Very strong albums. I find it interested that many of those projects like Drudkh, Hateforest, and Blood of Kingu while having very different styles are made up of the same musicians. In my opinion these people dominate the Ukrainian black metal scene and I'm not complaining.
  10. I found it interesting that while Ghaal was strictly a vocalist as far as I know, that the Ghaal era Gorgoroth had very similar riff structure and guitar tone to God Seed his other project post Gorgoroth.
  11. Thanks for listening. Much more to come but the feedback is very much appreciated.
  12. We are Mausoleum from Alberta, Canada. Looking for some input on our first EP any and all would be welcomed and appreciated. We play blackmetal with some thrash influence and are releasing another EP very soon. Cheers https://themausoleum.bandcamp.com/releases
