My first album was Devin Townsend's "Ziltoid the Omniscient" at the wee age of 4. My dad, who taught at a college at the time, had brought the CD home from work and popped it in the stereo. Freaked the hell out of my mother.

The biggest new thrash acts I've seen lately are Havok and Vektor.

Although in Rush's early years they were quite metallic, I wouldn't classify them as a 'progressive metal' band and more as either 'synth rock' or 'progressive rock'.
