  1. FatherAlabaster - Thank you for the welcome. I didn't like Watershed all that much either but I have enjoyed Sorceress and Pale Communion. Still Life is the album I have playing more than any other, Godhead's Lament is one of my favorite songs. I usually gravitate to songs because most of music listening is done digitally these days. Thats how I found Khemmis, Spotify recommended Beyond The Door. It stayed in heavy rotation for me for a couple weeks. I just downloaded the album for xmas. I would say sorry you have to do shots and that I would be right there with ya but I am at work right now and something tells me you and I both don't mind doing a few shots if the chance was there. so I guess this is a good time to mention I said their names again in the Mosh Pit. Take care. Thanks for the welcome deathstorm. I am going to check out Obscura. any album or song I should start with?
  2. I agree that this an interesting vs. I think both got more from Sabbath, then Sabbath got from them. I think though Ozzy had to go at the time he did and was smart to do so. Where as Ronnie I think stayed a little too long and then came back for more of what left them to split in the first place. Then Ozzy came back and I think showed what happens if he had stayed too long, though 13 is a good album just not enough of what I loved about Ozzy in Sabbath. So I think now for me I appreciate Sabbath with Dio more than I do with Ozzy but if it's not for Ozzy in Sabbath I may never have found metal so Sabbath with Ozzy would be my choice every time. It's just more Iconic and has the more Iconic tracks for me.

  4. Hello everybody - My name is Joe Compton. I grew up on metal, loving metal. The father figure introduced me to Sabbath, KISS, Van Halen, and Priest at an early age and I took off from there. I am not a musician but I am a fan. I hope that makes it okay to be here. I do have a specific reason for how I found this forum and something to offer but I am just getting started here. I do something that can help hopefully a lot of you get seen and build a new audience but I don't just want to spam here. I love metal and talking metal so I do want to be someone who actually contributes to the conversations here. What I do is not going anywhere soon but you can get a clue from my forum name. I have told a couple Indie Metal artists about this place already, so hopefully they will come and be a part too. I have been lucky enough to meet some awesome and talented metal artists and hope to make a few more friends here. Right now I have been really into Entombed, Khemmis (I just got into this kick ass band), Opeth, August Burns Red, and Amon Amarth. I always have my fall backs like King Diamond, Slipknot, Anthrax, Slayer, Dio, and Iron Maiden (who I named my Publishing Company after actually). Been enjoying the new Metallica to an extent but I think they have made some missteps, one of which is not including Lords of Summer on the actual album. I live in Northern California and had attended every Ozzfest there was at Shoreline and then subsequently the last 3 mayhem festivals that were there. The last one was pathetic even though it had given me my first opportunity to see King Diamond ever. Anyway if you want to know about or talk metal with me I am here. Cheers, Joe
