  1. Hey man, youre pushing so hard to get power and volume. Blocking the mic with your thumb will not let that effort come into the mic fully. You did not get a thumb sound discount on the mic. Get your moneys worth and use all of it. Let us really hear you! Get more details out of your mic. I know a mic is not the most ergonomic thing to grip for long periods of time, and changing hand positions does relieve some of that. Have you checked the mic holding stick Chuck Billy , and AXl sometimes used?
  2. 2106 was a mic wild year. To a pretty darn stuffed with great mics cabinet 2016 added a lot. Vintage US EV Re200 s now totaling six. One of the best small condenser drum mics ever. A pair of US EV RE1000 for OH, sweet. Neumann stuff a BCM 705 , Two TLM 103 s for kick drums. Two KMS 105 for drums or vocal. German Made Sennheiser two MK8 s for low toms And two Deep Kick sub mic from Portland Oregon
  3. And how! Testament, Kreator, pre MTV Savatage, Nasty Savage, Armoured Saint, Grim Reaper, Mr.Slate, . The list could go on and on of better thrash outside the mainstream distribution four.
  4. Hope everyone's Winter Solstice Holiday was good. Good luck to all of us and Metal this year!
  5. Just picked up a Meinl Sound Caster Custom 20" Powerful Ride Cymbal. Has nice complexity and darkness. It will record nicely.
  6. Leftover spicy Black Eyed peas with roasted jalapeno, and bryanni bismatti rice . Mouth on fire
  7. Trouble is in America the party that works folks up about keeping gun rights, has ebbed and diminished search and seizure rights for all it can for over 40 years. Without those, gun rights won't matter anymore, if they can just enter your house at weakest whim. They can go in and take anything, guns included. So without the foundation of civil liberties, other rights get real easy to destroy. If a neighbor calls in a fake domestic, no warrant needed anymore. That's to establish no warrant needed for other police whims. No Entry, No Quarter used to be a solid right, now its kind of iffy. Without those, gun rights are an unfortunately thin veil. We need a new political party to replace the banter and dysfunction.
  8. Congrats on your story getting published on an Artist site!

  9. Whew , well here's to that! Our state stuck to its bible thumping civil liberties squashing tradition. Back during the primaries I said, "these are the fucking choices!?" Im sure the world thinks we have gone daft. Practice saying "Ah Great" cause old dandy Don is going to make America Great Again. Not likely great for anyone I know, buckling up for a bumpy ride myself. AH Great
  10. Nice kit For rock and metal maple or a maple hybrid, I too feel is the way to go. It would be hard to beat a 90's Ludwig Maple kit indeed. The house kit at the old brick church studio is a vintage Tama Rockstar Double Kick 92 best I can date it maybe 91, eight shells plus snare. It is hybrid maple with mahogany, and a mystery layer many say is poplar. Which I question not much poplar gets imported to Asia. I keep Evans heads on it. But there is a stash or Low Tuning friendly Aquarians on hand. I keep three Snare a Tama Rockstar 14 x 6.5, a 1964 15x 12 Maple Marching Snare, a copy of slingerland radio king. I dont keep much for cymbals, they are such a personal choice its best if a drummer brings their own. I use a custom pillow double ended "felt Platypus" for Kick dampening it allows movement off the head for full open at impact, and is very adjustable. Live it would slow down set up, and EMAD would be quicker and very similar result. What do you feel have been the far too easy to break cymbals in your career?
  11. I read it. If saying hello to someone who might have an interesting skill set is pulling scabs in someones eye. The perception problem likely isnt mine. Ive already made a contact that has not posted in months that could be a potential project collaborator. Within the last two days at that. If I see another person declaring a skill of possible mutual benefit or interesting technical discussion, I dont care how its been since they talked here Im going to reach out. And I dont owe gorbo anything. Im not making any demands nor am I taking any commands. Commands of retribution are out of line, however good his intentions. He may have meant well. It came across as a posturing form a grown person might not like too much. Yes I know how it works. Its a revival of the BBS fad of the 80's. Complete with some middle school chest beating, and occasional clicky behaviors I normally ignore, just not when it is directed at me. Im prone to let some one know when they are button pushing or crossing the line. Your getting to know me now. Fact is Ive been dying to talk with some having welding skills about this exact thing. Some one who might entertain a music oriented design function especially, someone that has seen a metal show to boot, a rare opportunity for discussion, not a scab.
  12. Whoever you are if your expecting me to bow. You got another thing coming. Why chase more folks off?
  13. Im raising my sights again
  14. Well if everything wet is soup I suppose its a genre. But its not ,its not even a real term for playing technique. Lots of palm muting is "lots of palm muting"
  15. Phil Another Perfect Day, On Parole, Dancing on your Grave, come to mind.
  16. Sisa As a welder have you been drawing out any roll out trailer based mobile outdoor stages? Darn text robs your accent.
  17. Katarina There is someone that used to do world tours looking to collaborate. I ll message you
  18. Well raise a glass or six. It may make the forum more interesting.
  19. Moonspell Hey hope you are still around the forum. You are talking of bands others dont mention. I like that.
  20. Symphonic and prog are great! One of the most interesting sessions here was when Glenn Barry recorded some session work during a 100 year flood storm. I wrote a short story about in " Another Nightmare Gig from Hell" as a Kamelot fan a story about Glenn is something you might enjoy.
