  1. Megaslaughter - Calls From The Beyond & The Demos (double CD) Vaal - Visioen Van Het Verborgen Land Chemical Breath - Fatal Exposure Moloch - Abstrakter Wald
  2. (Old Sorcery - Sorrowcrown) (Old Sorcery / Druadan Forest split) (Old Sorcery / Haxan Dreams split)
  3. Think I had it pre-release, from Redefining Darkness, so I definitely wasn’t influenced by the hype train. I loved the old WW1 samples, the songs really did it for me, I thought the production was excellent and that it worked really well as an overall package... plus the timing of the release was cool - 11th hour on the 11th day on the 11th month/ the hundredth anniversary of the end of the war. These things are of course entirely subjective, and the world would be a dull place if we all liked all of the same things, but I thought it was a pretty special album anyway.
  4. The Blind Leading The Blind is the same style, but loads better. Great album. Didn't know they have a new one on the way, that's good news. I have tickets to see them on tour (in a cool tiny little venue near where I live), but it's been postponed twice and I'm guessing it might never happen now 😕
  5. Also very good, but I rarely feel like listening to it for whatever reason.
  6. Incantation - Sect Of Vile Divinities Can't stop listening to this album lately, think it's my favourite Incantation release ...which is pretty impressive for a band that has been around this long.
  7. Agatus ‎– Dawn Of Martyrdom
  8. Necrophobic - The Nocturnal Silence Septic Flesh - Mystic Places Of Dawn Septic Flesh - Temple Of The Lost Race Burzum - From The Depths Of Darkness
  9. I am currently watching/listening to this: (Rotting Christ doing a live stream of their early material last year)
  10. That would seem to sum it up very well indeed! I didn't know Andy Whale had left, that's a shame.
  11. (Resinator - Harvest Rituals) (Resinator - Apothecaries' Weight) (Resin Eater - Internal Astronomy)
  12. I’m not a fan of Hate Eternal, so there were no such expectations from me 😇
  13. I also had the same experience with the new CC album. Inhumane Harvest I really like, but the rest fell pretty flat for me on first listen so I didn't order a copy (just downloaded that single track on Bandcamp). I have, however, watched every single one of the ten million interviews posted on YouTube with members of the band in support of the album - really can't seem to get enough of them as characters! And I will definitely be giving both albums another try at some point.
  14. I’ll be interested to know whether it grows on you or not. I wasn’t impressed enough to buy it on first listen, but I perhaps just wasn’t in the right mood for it...
  15. The last two are both the same story for me - I really like the instrumental tracks, but can't stand it when Varg starts talking/folk singing.
  16. Burzum - The Ways Of Yore / Thulean Mysteries (I just downloaded all of the completely instrumental tracks from Bandcamp and burnt myself a compilation CD) (Also downloaded all of the tracks I like from Fallen and Umskiptar and burnt a CD of those earlier on : )
  17. CD collection as it now* stands (including quite a lot of non-metal): *photo updated February 2024
  18. Burzum - From The Depths Of Darkness
  19. Incantation - Sect Of Vile Divinities (signed copy )
  20. I like (and own) Pentagram and Antichrist, but that's about as far as I go with them.
  21. My favourite is probably Non Serviam. Then Thy Mighty Contract. Then Triarchy Of The Lost Lovers. All excellent albums. I don't own/think I really like any of the others.
