Among The Living was one of the first thrash albums I ever heard. Think I was 8 or 9 (so this would have been 1988/1989), and I came across a cassette copy in my local library. Them were the days.

What do people think of it, then? I think it's excellent.

Soulskinner - Crypts Of Ancient Wisdom Such a shame they've lost their original singer - this album, Descent To Abaddon and the splits in between are pure gold.

As you say, the first three albums is where it's at. They've definitely had other moments, but that's all I actually own. ...unless you count Bandcamp downloads, in which case I also own Gateways To Annihilation.

Ah yes, I do know what you mean there. Lots of that going on. Guess I just wasn't particularly invested in the characters/plot/anything

It went the other way for me - there was a gap of years between my watching season one and bothering to get to season two, and it was probably about four seasons before I genuinely started enjoying watching it. I enjoyed the final season the most, not least because of all of the grand special effects. But then the show didn't blow me away at any stage, so I I'm probably not best-placed to judge where it ended up. Would certainly agree that it's been over-hyped, anyway.
