  1. Fuck yes. Just got a ticket for Dead Congregation with Phrenelith, at lovely Ralph's in nearby Worcester (Woostah) this April. Haven't seen either band live before. Good venue, haven't been since the before times, and only my second real metal show in the last 3 years or so. Pumped.

  3. Beastiality - Sacrificial Chants (2022) Back by popular demand (or at least the demands of the Goatmaster) it's Fuck Around Fridays were I pick a random listen for a Friday morning. This week some blackened death/thrash from Sweden in the form of Beastiality. Pretty much right up your alley if you like Nifelheim, bullet belts, studded leather and pictures of men holding skulls and chains in a menacing fashion. Sacrificial Chants is fifteen minutes of blackened bashing and smashing to make your necro bollocks tingle. One of the many popular beat combos you find on Invictus Productions nowadays.

  5. TENTACULT - Lacerating Pattern. This is good stuff. Musically interesting enough for Thatguy, but not so techie as to scare off the goats. The fainting goats.

  6. 15°C (59°F) at 8:30 in the morning going up to a high of 21°C (70°F) today is what you consider a "cold snap?" Sounds like a lovely late spring or early summer day to me. I'm gonna have to turn off the water later tonight sometime after dinner as we plunge down into the low single digits so my pipes won't freeze again like they did on Christmas Eve. I'll turn the pressure tank back on again when it gets back up over 20°F (-7°C) tomorrow afternoon. I've got two 5 gallon pails of water standing by in the bathrooms for flushing purposes. Haha I remember having to go up to Worcester every single holiday and birthday to visit grandma in her 3rd floor flat of a hundred year old triple-decker when I was a kid. I shared an August birthday with my father so I remember being annoyed to always have to spend it trapped in the back seat of the car with my little sister (that 4.5 hour drive seemed a lot longer to me when I was a kid) and then sitting around some little old lady's dumpy apartment for a few days. Biggest excitement was walking up to the Cumberland Farms with a few dollars she'd given me to fetch her milk or bread or eggs or something. I remember it feeling like an old rundown town much in need of some sprucing up. But that was in the 70's, I haven't been back to Woostah since. I remember visiting her in much newer and nicer places later on in the 80's and 90's after she'd moved back to the Boston area (Bedford/Lexington/Arlington) and I suspect my dad must have been helping her with the rent. Was lucky to catch Dead Congregation a few years ago (2019?) at the Metal Threat festival in Chicago. They destroyed. I came away quite satisfied. Had some video of their set on my phone, but I've long since deleted it to make space.

  11. It's bandcamp Friday. Get some in ya! TENTACULT - LACERATING PATTERN by TENTACULT When @Thatguy recommends as good, but not too goaty, I listen. New Iconic by Obsidious Just hired Linus to play bass on a doom album. Which might end up a colossal mistake, but worth a shot. This is way too clinical and tidy for my usual tastes, but it is well put together. and I quite like it. As good as any Obscura album. But, holy shit, the overproduced synthy tech intro - I hate that shit. New Solitude by Sanguinem Really solid slab of metal from some boys in London I know.

    Movie Thread/Now Watching

With the breakdown (apparently) and political polarization I see here in the good ole USA, it's really a metaphor for making a life, trying to create community and a semblance a civilized life when the pillars of society, government even that you grew up with seem to be crumbling 🙃

  19. Not sure if I've already posted here. I've been advertising sorry if I've posted here already. I made an album called "He, You, And I' and the band is called "Hand in the sky" I've wokred hard on this album. One thing to mention: I am deaf in the rigth ear, so the reverb is onky panned to one side. I Thini the guitar solos are good. Once before, I had never really written a guitar solo before, and the solo in poser was my "first guitar solo". I am happy with the way the album sounds and the way everything is meshed togegfhetr. The production is lacking, as I am no sound engineer but I think the songs are strogn and that is ultimately what matters! WQhen I star ta band, we will write another reocrd, and this album, will be the second record. I will write new songs with a du mmer and that will be our first reocrd. so this is the secodn record for hand in the sky. I have never really written a guitar soolo before. cheers - NIkko. 1 byue! yo! ayeaah.
