  1. Enslaved - Isa Enslaved - Ruun Put these albums on bandcamp! Fuckers!

  2. According to MA, the last physical reissue for Isa was Back in Black doing a vinyl in 2009 and Somber doing a CD in 2008. The Candlelight version was 2005, but those were all probably license deals since Tabu was still around (they went silent around 2012). Ruun was essentially the same deal. Not saying they're hard to get, just pointing out why there's no Bandcamp release, and what the worst possible scenario could be down the road. That's a pretty unlikely case though, because Tabu was a sub-label of Tuba, who I think is still kicking around and most likely assumed control of the catalog

  4. I bet you're right about the Candlelight USA release, they're nowhere to be found on Candlelight's website. RYM says Tuba Recordings went under in 2013. Cosmos Music (Sweden) is listed as the current label on Apple's streaming platform; I didn't see any current ownership information anywhere else. I wonder if Cosmos actually bought it back in the day. They claim to own "the biggest independent catalogue of masters in Scandinavia" and to "have a long term commitment to the creative marketing of these recordings". My Swedish is rusty but I think that might mean "we will continue to wring revenue out of your music on all streaming platforms long after your bones have turned to dust".

  5. Every job has it's perks, some people take them too far but even taking a pen home from work is technically theft, but how many every get sacked for a pen? I've got a mate who used to deliver beer and he got 2 free slabs of beer (24 cans = slab) a week, he didn't have to take it, and they didn't remind workers they could, it was just a perk. Eating something I was supposed to be delivering was hardly going to be a crime, especially when I minused it off the shop order so they weren't charged for it.

  6. I think Candlelight has the rights to Isa and Ruun. CDs are readily available. I prefer buying new albums off Bandcamp, and I get annoyed when I have to shell out close to 20 bucks for a CD that I'll rip and never play, but older stuff is usually pretty easy to find cheaper used.

  7. It's a rights thing...Eld and most of their other early traditional sounding albums belong to Osmose and are on Osmose's Bandcamp Isa and Ruun were released through Tabu Recordings, which is seemingly dead now. My guess is the album rights belong to whomever currently owns that companies portfolio, and until they revert or someone finds a way to buy them, not much anyone can do. Worst case scenario - Enslaved didn't have anything in their contract about getting the music back, and Tabu dissolving created a situation where there is no official "owner" anymore, meaning no one can legally get the rights to those albums ever again - at least until it hits public domain teritory

  9. My purchases of the day on Bandcamp : I had known about the band for ages, but had not been interested in them before. The new album will be released on October 7 so in the meantime, I'm checking out The Sane Asylum (1988) and the EP released in 2018. Ah, I also bought the track Straight As The Crowbar Flies which will be on the new record. Surprising that Enslaved's Bandcamp page doesn't feature them, just like the fabulous Eld and other albums!

  14. Yeah that Nyctophilia is solid Polish black metal. Good shit. Gave me a mental image of a corpse painted black metal band outside on a hot day sweating their makeup off as they build an impenetrable brick wall.

  15. Off the top of my head I would say inquisition, ancient, maybe early behemoth from around Grom, and if you’re looking for something more melodic and folky Bergtat by Ulver. Outside of that this thread should have literal pages of recommendation from one of our former users including videos, and brief descriptions of the fans in question. Hope help
