  4. No way. Fuck that. I booked a hotel room for the missus and I as soon as I knew we weren't flying. I'm too old to be sleeping in a damn airport. Playlist for trying to get caught up at work today: Eternal Champion - Ravening Iron - the more I listen to this the more I like it better than the first which is imo a stone cold classic. Ulthar - Providence - a pre-order last year I was severely disappointed with. Time to dig it up and give it another try. Wagner Ödegård - Om Kosmos och de Tolv Järtekn - strange blend of all kind of styles that just works Torche - Admission - one of their weaker efforts but still catchy as hell Sodom - Persecution Mania Saturnine - Shield the Light in a veil of Darkness - my boys from Jacksonville Urgehal with Trondr was a great band.

  6. Haha well it's Jute Gyte, even the music sounds like he's torturing someone. Good thing they didn't shoot him.

  7. I know cachaca quite well after drinking a couple of caipirinha's after quite some beer. They hit hard! They are delicious and harmless while you are sitting with friends on the terras until you stand up....

  8. Hey everybody, I'm a 28 year old metal head located in the central Texas area. I've only been in a band once and loved every second of it and am looking to get back into one. I'm kind of a mix between Megadeth, Venom, and Death, with a little bit of punk influence. Anyway if that sound up your alley, let a brother know. Hope to hear from someone soon. Thanks!

  9. That reminds me of Cachaça, which is a Brazilian liquor also made from sugarcane. I've only had a handful of brands, but they were definitely made for mixing, neat was a punch in the chest. Have you tried any of those?

  11. Suffering Hour does have a unique sound. It's those guitars. Great sort of open and "organic" tone, interesting chords, a great feel for the whammy bar. That Ad Nauseam album is on another level, the interplay between all the parts is so well thought out and they nailed the mix and sound. I liked the debut but I honestly think they raised the bar for the whole style with the new one. NP: Akercocke - Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone

  12. I bought that one on digital, really good and groovy. I wasn't too stoked on the new album that came out last year. Something was missing.

    Saxon

Saxon is my personal favorite out of all the early 80's nwobhm era bands. I prefer them over Priest and Maiden and anyone else from that nwobhm movement you care to name except for Motorhead. I'll take Motorhead over any other late 70's early 80's band bar none. That said, the only Saxon albums you really absolutely need are Strong Arm of the Law, Wheels of Steel, Denim & Leather and I guess Power and the Glory. Crusader is alright but not essential. Thats it, the whole Saxon story in a nutshell. Hungry Years

  14. Severe weather in Dallas shut the airport down. It's the second largest in the US by passenger volume, so you can imagine the chaos it causes when something like that happens.
