  2. Maybe I'm too old skool, but I feel Cultural Appropriation is such a bullshit thing anyway, I mean surely that makes Iron Maiden like Racist or something right? they have songs about ancient Egypt, for example and I don't think they're Egyptian are they? I'm not out to offend anyone, but yeah I think if we had to worry about stuff such as this, well I couldn't use the name Sabazios as I'm not Phrygian... etc...

    This is me!

Hey man! I've got Presonus Studio One, I've used Pro Tools and Logic before but I prefer Studio One. Plus, I'd rather be working on Windows too. I'm pretty open-minded with music in general; it's just metal seems to be far more appealing and fun. I've been writing music for over 15 years and started learning to produce my own recorded material in the last three. I've been in bands from other genres and played a bunch of shows, but thought now was the time to try and do my own thing.

  15. I can't imagine Tool or many of Maynard's project without humour. One of my friends is forming a band in New Zealand and is worrying because his lyrics are too humorous. From what I've heard, they are really creative and that's all that matters. That they capture the imagination and are entertaining is most important. So I think there is plenty of room for humour in all music.

  16. Absolutely not. There's no room for humour in metal. Abbath frowns upon all.

  17. I am a fan of serious music. However I do like humorous music like DR. Demento type stuff (I was a kid once) I have been told that I shouldn't make people laugh when we do live shows, but people seem to like it when I make them laugh. I think it's fun.

  18. This is hilarious. They play in Melbourne all the time but I've never seen them - maybe I should check them out. A good friend of mine really loves them. I think to understand the humour here you sort of have to be Australian. Everywhere you go people ask you if you've been busy. No joke, I went to the dentist the other day and the guy goes, "How have you been?" and as I open my mouth to answer he says, "Busy? Yeah, busy". It was so funny. Afterwards my wife and I made a point of commenting on it to each other as we had both noticed the verbal idiosyncrasy. So yeah, very funny stuff if you're an Austraaaaaalian.

  19. Everybody's different. It's up to the band to make a place for humor in their music. Humor is prevalent in grind and slam. Bands like Type O Negative, Cephalic Carnage, or Faith No More wouldn't be anywhere near as good without their use of humor. On the other hand I can't imagine Jonas Renkse using goofy sound effects or silly puns. When it comes to Dani Filth, eh, you're not laughing with him, you're laughing at him...

    Gorgoroth

I saw them live this summer, With Hoest from Taake as vocalist. Kind of different from my last experience which were at Wacken some years ago, when they had Gaahl and King, but no Infernus.

Am I crazy if Gaahl is my favorite vocalist for Gorgoroth? And if Ad Majorem Sathanas Gloriam is my favorite album by them? Probably
