Marduk - 'Heaven Shall Burn When We Are Gathered' Just an amazing album. I think this tends to get overlooked in Marduk's canon for the more marquee releases, but this is from start to finish an atmospheric riff-fest of really high quality. I definitely prefer the re-release though with the new artwork, which lends the album some dignity after that foolish 'orc' album cover of the original.

The artwork doesn't bother me too much, and in some ways I think it's pretty cool. The whole booklet is pretty minimal and unexciting except for the lyrics, as it was for 'Exercises in Futility'. Anyway, if you give it a few listens I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Oldenhelm is my favorite Dungeon Synth - equally ambient and moving.

I really, really love DSBM. Sadly, I don't know too many artists, but hey I am not dead yet so I can still discover. Some of my favorite artists include: Ofdrykkja Shining Lifelover No Point In Living I also like the depressive artwork on the albums.

I never really got that deep into DSBM, but I have always been a fan of Xasthur through random tracks on youtube (missing out on a chance to buy Nocturnal Poisoning on cd is a regret of mine). I always liked his "2005 Demo," as it was short, dense, and had cover art that matched the music perfectly. Another release that I always liked was Shining's Through Years of Oppression compilation. Some of the most shocking cover art that I have seen, and the Halloween theme cover that they titled "Black Industrial Misery" was amazing.
