  1. Drudkh- “They Often See Dreams....” really liked this from the start. First track in particular is great. Best album in a long time imo.

  7. Well Mötley Crüe's first two albums are incredible records. Such an odd set of characters that somehow managed to get a great sound together. Those first two albums are close to perfect, though Come On And Dance is a really dreadful unfortunate number. But this was before the 80s started derailing. In the late 80s most band lost their way including Mötley Crüe who made mostly terrible records with maybe the occasional track that you're able to stand if it hasn't been played to death already. Strangely enough Vince Neal of all the guys made a great solo album when he got kicked out of the band. Who could have guessed? Steve Stevens plays guitar on it and the drums are driving the right way. I think it was called Exposed. Great songs and more notably great instrumentation. Saying that, I must admit that Poison with Richie Kotzen made a decent album.

  8. Requiem

    What's on your mind?

While I go through all types of music and albums in my daily commute in the Requiem Carriage, I have two particular listening quirks. Whenever I mow the lawn, which is about once a fortnight, I listen to Steel Panther, particularly their first album. The songs are great, the headphones defeat the mower noise and the humour makes the whole job lighthearted. There's something about the goofball hair metal 80s thing that is entirely congruent with suburban backyard mowing. Lawn mowing in general feels very 1980s to me for some reason. The other major chore I do around the place is clean a shower. To do this I need to be listening to Ozzy era Black Sabbath. Why, I don't know, but it works well.

  10. Wardruna - 'Runaljod - gap va Ginnunga' although now I feel compelled to check the new Drudkh out. Also I still need to listen to that other band you mentioned the other day.

  11. Excellent. I'll have to check out the classic albums in more detail. They're cheap on ebay.

  12. LA Guns with Tracii are touring! Are you going? Should we go??! Motley Crue are one of the all time greats. Fantastic band, with highs and lows like every band worth their salt should have.

    Travel

I do not travel nearly as much as I would like to, especially now with two young boys. I am off to Portugal In May for a week to explore the southern coast, caves and rock pools. Not expecting to find any Metal venues or bars but will keep an eye out. Dream destination would be Alaska. I live about 20 mins away in the car, really interesting especially on the demo days when they will demonstrate certain tanks abilities. Also can ride in them if you are lucky. Great day out for all the family. Kids love it.
