Most anticipated albums of 2018
ChainsawAkimbo and one other reacted to Requiem for a topic
Deathstorm posts release information exclusively. Death to false discussers. 666. I'm really looking forward to the new Ozzy Osbourne album providing they keep Kevin Churko away from it. I'm also interested in seeing what Dimmu Borgir come up with, because it will have been 8 years since their last studio album, and even that one divided a lot of fans. What the hell have they been doing?? Also, I really hope Children of Bodom keep that downtuned sound for their new album. I just loved 'I Worship Chaos'.2 points -
Lunch today was two chocolate platters at a Lindt cafe. Hot chocolate, chocolate pieces, chocolate cheesecake, chocolate ice-cream, chocolate layer thing, chocolate sauce. I went hard at it but it defeated me and I had to capitulate. I crawled out of there, a chocolatey, broken man.2 points

Evertune bridges

Just have your tech set your other custom-modified Gibson to drop D and make sure your roadies know when to bring it onstage. Problem solved.1 point -
Evertune bridges
deathstorm reacted to FatherAlabaster for a topic
The other issue with an Evertune is that you have to modify your guitar by cutting out wood to accommodate it. That's a big step to take with a good instrument, and hardly worth the labor and money for a cheap instrument. Not to mention that you're then stuck with whatever effect the bridge has on tone and sustain. I can see where it might be useful for some touring musicians, or as a fun thing to have around if you've got several instruments to choose from, but by and large I think it's a solution in search of a problem. I have played with one briefly before, and wasn't thrilled with the feel. I'd be interested to hear some input from actual Evertune owners.1 point -

The whole Aleah in Trees of Eternity thing is just amazing. I can’t believe that album and then her death. It’s just next level. It’s the metal story of the century. I get tears In my eyes too during ‘My Requiem’. The lyrics are just too perfectly ironic and the album version is close to the greatest song ever written. As for Hallatar I’ll be getting this for sure.1 point -
What's on your mind?
True Belief reacted to Requiem for a topic
At the metal pub marvelling at how good the speakers are in here. Metal has never sounded better. It’s just unbelievable. So far we’ve had Slayer and I think Arch Enemy amongst others that I don’t recognise. @True Belief would probably know a few more but he’s too busy with his family or something instead of his true family, his metal brother Requiem!!! Pantera’s ‘I’m Broken’ just came on. Sounds amazing. That reminds me, I have to post about Rex Brown’s book in the book thread tomorrow. Less cool is that my favourite armchair has been removed. There were two large red leather armchairs in here for years and one of them was shaped to fit my ass. I asked the guy at the bar where they went. He said he didn’t know.1 point -
All the 80s and early 90s Maiden album covers are fantastic. Part of the fun of Maiden really. There is literally not a single thing that is remotely menacing about Iron Maiden. You could take them home to meet your parents. As for 'Dance of Death' though - candidate for worst album cover of all time? Or at least, shoddiest execution of what might have been a decent idea?1 point

So gracious of you. You made a mistake, just own it and don't try to turn it back on me. I don't like Slipknot lyrics and don't want to be quoted suggesting I do. I added a 'hahahaha' to show I wasn't that concerned. Thanks for doing me the laborious favour of correcting it.1 point

I found some clips of Hate Forest playing live, but have yet to watch them all of the way through.1 point -
I finally created a few riffs that, in my opinion, actually sound good. I might have a first draft of a bm song soon. Lucky, I had work.1 point

Epic Req ^ I can't believe no-one seems to have mentioned Derek Riggs.. Used to love looking at the Maiden posters and finding all the little hidden details! 'Killers' always used to blow me away.1 point -

20th October Hallatar's debut No Stars Upon The Bridge was released. Hallatar was founded by Juha Raivio as tribute to Aleah (Juha was in a relationship with Aleah until her death) On this album we can hear Aleah's voice in the song Dreams Burn Down. Also we can hear Heike Langhans (vocalist of Draconian and ISON, Aleah's friend) in the song My Mistake. Whenever I listen Trees of Eternity album Houf of the Nightingale I have tears in my eyes. Hallatar's debut in my opinion is as emotional and beautiful as Hour of The Nightingale. When I listened to No Stars Upon The Bridge for the first time I was really touched by all emotions, all words in this music. I'm sure Aleah would be touched and proud of this beautiful tribute.1 point
